DJ thought Arnel was lipping at concert

Postby steveo777 » Sat Sep 26, 2009 6:15 am

So a DJ who was at the Journey show in Orlando thought Arnel was lipping to a track. Joel Hoekstra of Night Ranger sets him straight. Apparently Arnel sounded so close to original, he thought he was lipping....sounded like he just pushed the play button on the Journey CD. Someone also thought NR was playing guitar to a track.

the DJ sounds like a total idiot. He should at least know who he's friggin' interviewing.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Arnel could talk a little more, and in time probably will. But it doesn't bother me as he's moving so much and really interacting with the crowd that you feel like he is, and of course the energy of the show and great songs is a blast. You don't realize he hasn't talked all that much to the audience until the end.

With Night Ranger it went the opposite way. He talks too much. At first I enjoyed it, but he kept doing it throughout, and some his stories would go on and on and ended up actually going absolutely nowhere and I would get antsy, like come on, get to the next song.

Is the one on the left an okay size? I'm not trying to make any waves here. Let me know if I need to make it even smaller.

It goes to show that Arnel is that good. 8)

I don't know if you call it bias, but the dj made his assumption that Arnel was lipping because he heard an accent when Arnel greeted the audience. So wrong. :(
