So, you are basically opening and closing with the same song here. Keep NWA and dump BGTY to keep at least one song from Revelation in the setlist.

They should include La Ra Za Del Sol on their setlist. The 2001 DVD version of this song is simply amazing...

Good point. "What I needed" is a great live song, and so is "Change for the better." I'd prefer either of those two over "Never walk away."

Winds of March and Patiently need to come back to the setlist.

'Nuff said.

And on a side-note, I think it'd be a smart idea for the band to make One More a permanent addition to the setlist; Arnel is incredible on that number.

Same! "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever?" is probably my favorite of the Perry-era ballads. Very moving song, indeed.

I really wish they would put this in their setlist this year. I loved how they put them together also bringing it back around to Patiently at the end. Nice touch and worked. And loved the very end of it.

In 2008, Heart was unable to perform at the Detroit concert so Journey played an extended set. If this happens again in 2011, here's something:

NEW EXTENDED Journey Set List Suggestion
1. Escape (First In honor of 30th anniversary)
2. Never Walk Away
3. Separate Ways
4. Only The Young
5. Stone In Love
6. City Of Hope
7. Lov'n, Touch'n, Squeez'n
8. Edge of the Blade
9. La Raza Del Sol
10. Wheel In The Sky
11. Chain of Love
12. Chain Reaction
13. Change For The Better
14. Of A Lifetime (Give Arnel a break and show this really is Neal's band)
15. Feelin' That Way
16. Anytime
17. Keep on Runnin'
18. Edge of the Moment
19. Who's Cryin' Now
20. (Something else off of Eclipse that I haven't heard yet)
21. Any Way You Want It
22. Open Arms
23. Lights
24. Faithfully
25. Don't Stop Believ'n

Load up the ballads at the end so I can get out of the parking lot fast and easy. -Bill

Winds of March would be awesome! Patiently? OK...But you have to trade Open Arms or Faithfully for it.

Come on, they made sure to not even touch the money notes at the end when they did it on the last tour so what's the point?
As for Patiently, Deen kills it. That song is 100% in his wheel house.

Fine by me. I was pushing more for Winds of March anyways (quite possibly my all time favorite Journey song at the moment), but yeah I'd easily trade either one of those ballads for Patiently.

I would be very interested to hear Arnel and Neal sing People/Places.. I think a contemporary audience would really be surprised and enjoy hearing it--such a beautiful gem from 70s Journey.

That's a great set list. I'd only change Never Walk Away for What I Needed or Change for the Better.

Hey!! I just liked it because it was new and unique on the tour. I thought it was great how they put it together, granted they avoided the end but it still ended up cool!!great combo

I think they should at least try to mix in one more song from Revelation. I have no idea which song but after all the ballyhooing about how that was the album that brought Journey back to the masses, there should be a least a few original songs from it that survive the cut.

That's because nobody believes in the dirty dozen stigma more than Journey does. When You Love a Woman was nominated for a grammy, but hasn't become a mainstay, After All These Years, was actually a hit, that doesn't make them add it to the regular rotation. People raved about the freshness of the arrangements of the classics on the Revelations tour, and the band acknowldeged as much, but went back to the old play book anyway. Sometimes they just don't practice what they preach...do not stop believin' and all that
