Neither one of those guys seems to have mental issues and singing the Pink Floyd catalog is about as fucking difficult as getting Snoop Dog high.

I know the tour is pretty much done, but the Wall shows that Roger Waters has been doing have been just incredible. Far and away the best live concert experience I have ever had, and I can't imagine ever seeing more of a spectacle than it.

Honestly, I hope this never happens at this point. I'd be much happier with a Perry solo effort if he gets the urge. After all that's happened (or HASN'T) between Perry and Journey, I would lose a little respect for the band. The current line up is plenty good enough, and I'm much happier with Perry hanging out at ball games and Journey touring and making music.

This. I'm definitely beginning to understand why the term "loon" is thrown around so often. I'll flat out say it right now: there is a much better than good chance that Steve's voice sounds like a cat getting raped by a tyrannosaurus right now. Listen to his rhaspy, range-less voice on Trial By Fire (An album I love by the way) and add over a decade to that. STFU about Steve Perry ever coming back to Journey.

HEATHENS! You are clearly blind to the fact that the God-Perry's return to Journey is emmient!!! Clean yourself of such naive statements and repent! REPENT, I SAY!!!!

wasn't really directing this to Perry and Journey getting back together, but rather Perry and Schon patching things up.

I can definitely see them patching things up - even becoming close friends again. That is, as long as Schon agrees to the terms of the friendship which Perry will have drawn up by his attorneys. Of course there would be a couple of provisions written into the contract to protect Perry should the friendship dissolve:
Should the friendship dissolve by fault of either party, Perry will be considered Schon's best friend for a period no less than 10 years.
At no time during the friendship shall Schon discuss the terms or details of the Friendship Agreement with any individual, group or entity.
If at any time during the friendship should either party disagree on anything whatsoever, the winner of said argument shall default to Perry.
Perry may at any time and his discretion opt to end the friendship without prior notice and/or without any reason given.

So, yeah... I can totally see them setting aside their differences and becoming buds again.

Being cordial to each other, sure. Reuniting, no. Really, what would be in it for Perry?
Last year, Classic Rock named him Greatest AOR Vocalist ever, this despite the dude doing absolutely nothing over the last decade.
Over the last 2 years, over 20 million Disney DVDs have been sold with the original version of a Journey classic included in the soundtrack.
Over 20 countries currently have the classic version of DSB on some type of music chart.
Journey's Greatest Hits has been evergreen on the Billboard charts since Revelation came and went and will probably still be on there after Eclipse comes and goes also.
Money isn't an issue obviously.
Now, If I'm over 60 years old, what more can I ask for? What does rejoining Journey accomplish for me that I haven't already achieved with them in the past and am achieving with them now as a noncontributing sixth member?
I don't know about you guys but when I turn 60, I hope to be doing nothing more than kicking it and enjoying my retirement. I can't imagine Perry really wanting anything different either. Yeah, he alludes to getting the itch to work again but so do my parents. In the end though, they realize how nice it is to be retired and those longings fade away or are replaced by some new interest.

So, never say never? Maybe, but if they choose to remain estranged it's no loss to anyone but themselves.

Could not have mirrored my opinion any better if you tried. I think the sane, realistic fans know and accept that there won't ever be a Perry-fronted incarnation of the band again. However, I also think that there is a large percentage of us who would like to see them bury the hatchet and let bygones be bygones if for no other reason than to bring peace to their souls. I mean really.... I don't think any of us likes the part of ourselves that harbors hate toward anyone. It's certainly not a place I like to spend very much time in due to the way it makes me feel when I'm there. Whether or not they ever do is anyone's guess but knowing what we do about their relationship and knowing that Schon has all the reasons in the world to be livid with Perry and is still the one who has said publicly that he'd love to be able to pick up the phone and call him up and just talk shows that the one choosing to keep things the way they are is Perry and we know how big of a douche he can be. I won't be holding my breath for any kind of cordial meeting between the tow any time soon.

...could be they've already done that... and think it's none of our business that they have... and maybe agreed to keep the feud alive in the publics eye to keep the hope alive for a Perry return and keep interest in the band alive... which is mutually beneficial to both...

Possible but probably not.
There were some signs of a reconciliation like JRNYMAN mentioned(btw great posts from him and Don)..Schon wanting to be able to pick up the phone and just ask Perry "how are you"..but also Perry sending an official message to the Oprah show and wishing the band all the best.
But when Cain said something like "the one whose name should not be mentioned",obviously referring to Perry who is still on a high profile about Journey using his name,it was clear that their relationship was below zero again.

Anything but Perry signing again even by himself let alone with Neal. Perry is in AA they don't allow it.
Get that straight. He sits with alcoholics everyday talking about how he use to be a drunk instead of signing that's what is important
not living in today he lives in yesterday Prepping his 50 songs

So essentially, many people are hoping he falls off the wagon!!

Screw the wagon. Perry needs to realize that is drinking problem was not caused by his signing career. I have seen many AA members just sit there and do nothing with there lives not wanting to rock the drinking boat, Perry need to get out of AA and start a new career
Singing career that is.

Perry an alcoholic? I'm not buying into that. Cocain or crack....maybe. I'll bet the fucker smokes weed everyday
and has one of those medical use marijuana permit thingys. Hell, he might even be a pin cushion like Michael Jackson,
while we're at it. :P
