Oh trust me.. we are embarrassed as fans AND WILL LET THEM KNOW ABOUT IT. Other than that, this got a lot tougher but I don't think the Wings can win Game 6 in Pittsburgh. This will end in Detroit. If anything, we put this behind us, there's nothing left to do about this game. I wouldn't even watch film. Re-group for game 6, remember this pathetic feelings about ourselves, and use it to our advantage to take this thing in 7.

Hey, I could make every excuse in the book like you do when we lose, but I won't because I tell it like it is. You can only generate talk when a wins a win.

It's in the Pens hands now as to how to respond to this. (As fluke as I may think this game actually was.) But Kudos to Detroit for exploiting us when it comes to stupidity.

NOT OVER.

I'm just saying it would have been real easy for the Wings to throw elbows at Crosby and Malkin late in game 4 when it was out of reach. Gutless stuff by the Penguins. Slashing Datsuk on the skate, it's like they're trying to injure Wings because they know they won't be able to beat them if they're healthy.

I am ashamed...Malkin played dirty and should be tossed...and I mean from the next game.

I am ashamed how they played...I am ashamed how they acted...No class...

If I was coaching the Penguins I wouldn't have let them out for the 3rd period...I would have forfeit the game...

We were totally outclassed in all phases of the game.

The Redwings really showed who was the better team, tonight, and perhaps for the series.

Hell no. Wrap it up in 6. Like I said, it means more if you can win at least one on the road.

Trav, you are a true role model for every fan for any sport out there..... Game 6 shall be AWESOME....... This series is just getting better and better,... as I said before,, A game 7 would be something we would all enjoy, even my pal, crybaby, Redwingfan ;):P

lol This 2nd experience has been great so far. If it ends in 6 OR 7.. I expect the next one or possibly the 7th one to be some top notch, balls to the walls, race to get a W no matter which team. Road games are important. In this case, whoever wins the first ROAD game of the series, Wins the Cup.

Good luck, defending Champs. We're not going away. Tuesday, we live another night. :P

I thought the Wings/NHL were "stalling the series" on purpose to make a better scene? All of a sudden, now they are going to win it early in 6. According to your theory earlier, this things going 7.

i don't believe that... they just let the game slip & out of frustration they took stupid penalties.

red... that was hardly a slash... a trip yes but a slash? c'mon.

kornwallis could be guilty of what you say... trying to injure... every time he's on the ice.

pens need to play with cool heads.

I had it twisted, but I guess in the same ball park. You said along the lines of "Why open up the series on the road? That goes against what Bowman has taught them" or something.

Here's how that bit went earlier.

RWF:
Why try to open it up on the road? It goes against everything they've been taught by Bowman.

RVR:
Why??? To WIN maybe? Christ...now you are saying they want to lose...you play hard EVERY game...that is what is taught in Pittsburgh...no wonder Detroit is a shit hole of a city. Only play hard when you are on home ice? That could be the stupidest comment I have ever heard

RWF:
Dude, you can't be that obtuse. You slow the game down on the road and take advantage of opportunities.

RVR:
Yeah...slow the game down and let the Pens all the way back into the series...with their young legs and incredible talent when you can take them out tonight...go home up 3-1 and win at home...that is just stupid...and shows that your hockey theory is flawed.

SPH:
That is the funniest damn thing I ever read if it wasn't so dumb and full of shit!!!!!! Yeah, slow it down instead of winning it in 4 or 5 games?? WOW! What a strategy! Rolling Eyes You are REALLY grasping at straws now

You pretty much said Detroit shouldn't come out strong during an away game since that's not the head coaches tendencies but hope to capitalize on mistakes. So I guess that's in the same ball park as extending the series or "stalling" the series by slowing down. I had it all twisted because I only read it once but you get what I was thinking and was tryin to say in a reply to you, haha.

Just GIVE IT UP! The best team will win, and that team will deserve it NO MATTER WHO IT IS! I have never seen a fan whine and throw out this much crap game after game :P

That being said, WHAT a game for the Wings! Wow! They dominated and won and the Penguins never had a chance! Way to come back after 2 losses! It is NOT over though. Game 6 will be better! Back to Pittsburgh 8)

Thanks for doing all the work in recapping that. Saves me the trouble!!! I was talking about the Wings after they had taken a 2-1 lead in the 2nd period. The smart thing to do is what the Wings usually do, taught in the Bowman era, is keep both dmen back and also keep 1 forward back. Back when Bowman was there it was called the "Left wing lock". Anyway, this forces the other team to ultimately "pinch". THEN you can catch them in your zone and get occasional odd man rushes. Hope this clarifies. I don't know how anyone could draw conclusions to prompt the above posts. Guess that's what I get for referring to x's and o's with folks that think the game is basically a bunch of guys skating in circles like it's musical chairs or something. Not referring to you there either. :D

I mean really, "intentionally lose on the road"?????

Maybe you should try reading a bit slower. I said that's how I feel about the Red Wings. Now read even slower because this is where it gets really complicated. I couldn't have meant it as a slam at Pittsburgh because 4 of the games are going to be played in Detroit and only 3 are going to be played in Pittsburgh. So if the Penguins do win the series, that means they would have to win at least 1 in Detroit and therefore absolving them of the "only win on home ice" and not deserving to win comment. I would draw you a picture but I don't know how to do that here. Do you have a fax #?

Interesting how I need to read slower, yet EVERYONE ELSE is reading your posts exactly like I am. You completely tried to make us feel like the Wings purposely pulled back and didnt' give their full power on the road, so they could come back and use their energy to kill the Penguins at home. As if it was a STRATEGY. That is how EVERYONE read it. And then you go on about how if the Wings only won at home, you could never be proud of that cup. Which is a COMPLETE contradiction and made no sense. YOU are saying these things, we are not making them up.

And then when you get called on YOUR words, you back track and try to make ME look stupid? Yeah, okay, I'm sure everyone buys I am the slow one here  You REALLY need to go back and read your posts from the beginning of this series. Maybe I will give you the benefit of the doubt and HOPE there was beer involved :P You have COMPLETELY tried to destroy our excitement every single time there has been a win for the Pens, with your whining and your excuses and THAT is getting old. As if we shouldnt' have been proud of those wins. As IF they weren't earned wins. Maybe you should try TYPING slower and maybe even thinking before you hit send :!: You make NO sense :P

You SERIOUSLY think I am watching this because hockey guys are "hot"??? Wow! Nothing chauvinistic about you  I am a Pens fan simply because I grew up in Pens territory and I happen to LOVE the game. The thrill, the excitement, and the adreniline rush you get from watching your team win. If you can think I am just some dumb woman watching this for the "hot guys" you know NOTHING about me. You really have a problem with women and sports, don't you

X's and O's? What the hell are you talking about? Your above post is grand and all with you getting "technically down" with it  but where did you once break anything down using X's and O's? All you said from that one post I was referring to was
Why try to open it up on the road? It goes against everything they've been taught by Bowman.
How is that breaking the game down using X's and O's?

You should be coaching in the NHL, Red.

Well now that I have been enlightened with the "slowing it down on the road" concept it all makes sense now! THAT is what the Pens were doing last night Travis!! It ALL makes sense!! They SLOWED it down in Detroit, to ALLOW themselves to lose, so they can kick their asses in Pitt on Tues!! Wow, I am so GLAD I have someone as knowledgable about the sport as RWF to teach me such things  I'd hate to go through life as some dumb woman who has no concept of the sport

Yeah as simple as criticizing the Wings wisdom in playing a wide open offensive game on the road, instead of playing a lockdown defensive game by keeping a forward back and I get accused of suggesting the Wings aren't trying to win on the road. Yourself included. Hell, this thread needs Deano back in it. Even if he's pulling for the Penguins, he's a hockey guy and would understand exactly what I'm saying.

Maybe I'll bolt too.

Okay, I'm convinced. You either can't read or can't comprehend what I'm talking about. You're hopeless!!! You win, I give up!

You

Are

One

Weird

Individual.

I know what you're saying, but you twist things around and contradict your words to the point where things get out of place.

I've never played Ice hockey, but have played in some tournaments on blades around my area for fun with buddies. Far from major hockey, but pretty much basic. Hockey is a game set up of match ups and placements on the ice where you follow a certain criteria and hope the other team is lured into your game plan. It's constant motion to where things may or may not work and placement is so key on going through with a game plan. I get that. As basic as it gets.

I still want to see your X's and O's through this thread with solid breakdown. Look.. we all aren't on our way to the NHL nor do any of us plan to. You don't need to know the EXACT game plan of each team and try to figure out what their doing to have a worthy argument or understand the game.

Stop making this awkward, and lets just talk the damn game, dude. Such a drama queen. 8)

i would think a team would try to win every game... regardless if it's at home or on the road.

try to do the job in less games as possible... sweeping is always nice. }:C))

Well, that's what you would THINK, BUT RWF is speaking in his own cryptic hockey language that only a true male fan could possibly understand. The rest of us are just TOO slow to get it

Which Pens teams shows up?

Postby RossValoryRocks » Wed Jun 10, 2009 1:03 am

The one that took 2 in Pittsburgh and played decent, but ultimately losing efforts in the first 2 in Detroit, OR the second rate AHL team that showed up on Satuday night and showed classless and completely unprofessional behavior in addtion to the inept play?
