I hear you but I'm not with you at all. Your English is better than you think because there was no humor intended in my posting. The clips from Hugo's site are not that great so I wouldn't put a lot of stock in them. I would recommend that you have a look at Hugo's catalog of music before you toss him out. He has the follow CD's:

Valentine
Open Skyz
Hugo (S/T)
Time on Earth
Fire in the Night

If you have not listened to his music then please have a listen. He is not a joke, he's actually the real deal. He can write, play and sing. His self titled cd is outstanding and Valentine rocks well. Here's an example of one of the best songs from Valentine.

If you've heard his records and you're still not convinced that's fine, differences of opinion are what make the world go around. But if you haven't, you should consider having a listen to his CD's.

Here's a quote from Andrew's site regarding Hugo's S/T CD: "That album (Hugo S/T) was released in 1997 to amazing critical and fan reaction. It was musically backed by Gary Hughes, Vinny Burns and the rest of the Ten gang, with Hugo also helping out. It was and still is touted as the album Journey should have recorded, when in that same year, they released Trial By Fire."

I think Hugo is the man for the job in Journey. Here's why:

1. He brings the Journey sound back to Journey
2. He already knows all of the material
3. He has demonstrated the ability to write better Journey music than Journey

If Journey wants to keep JSS great, retire Journey and call it what is it, SS. But if Journey wants to continue with any fan recognition or chance of being commercially successful again, they need Hugo. I don't like the fact that he looks like Perry so I say cut his hair, let him be his own man, but for fucks sakes let him sing so Journey can sound like Journey again!

... Hugo is a joke! After checking out his site I don't even wanna believe you're serious about him!
His Perry-imitations make him look like an idiot and his voice is very thin and often floating between the notes.
For a coverband I'd say OK it's fun, grab a beer and sing along but that's as far as it should go.

Anyone who claims Hugo has no stage presence has clearly never seen Evolution perform live. I love JSS, and I'd love to see them retain him permanently and move in a new direction, but Hugo has his own identity and is an incredible performer. Anyone who claims otherwise yet has not seen Hugo perform live cannot make a viable assertion.

Honestly, Augieri was never a soundalike, but why they chose him will always remain a mystery to me. Jeremy Hunsicker is the absolute best Perry soundalike who has ever lived; Hugo is a very close second. Neal is talking out of his ass when he said it would have been "weird" to have Hugo front the band. He made a bad choice, and the band's legacy will be permanently diminished as a consequence.

Taking JSS aboard (but still retaining Cain) and making a new start would be fantastic. Otherwise, they need to get Hunsucker or Hugo aboard ASAP OR...let's just get the guys & Perry in a room and lock 'em all in there until they work it out, then do a one-off and restore the band's legacy.

I am really tired of people ripping Hugo. And Hunsicker was the obvious choice all along, anyway.
