Today listened to the only official Boston record I have, the GH and based solely on that I can REconfirm, Brad Delp could stone cold absolutely DEAL.

He's clearly on Mt Rushmore of melodic rock vocalists. That sort of voice is one of a kind and we had a handful of guys like him going on in that era in our genre.

That line, "see my Mary Ann walking awa-ay!" And the key changes from high to REALLY HIGH on 'away' - wow. It's breathtaking!

My favorite vocal work by Delp is "HollyAnn" off of Third Stage. Great soaring vocals singing great lyrics.

Heart failure is the official line....I don't expect there was any other issues going on, the guy was about to get married!

Andrew, I hope you're right.

Are you absolutely sure that this is the case? Sometimes suicides are covered up for family reasons. I only ask because I've heard from two other sources that it was a suicide. With that said I absolutely trust you.

Well, lets not speculate on anything. This is how rumors get started. Let's wait for an official press release. What the talk of the town now may not be what it is. So lets not go there anymore, please.

Sources can be wrong too at times. Why can't anyone wait to hear the official statement? Instead they speculate and come to the conclusions based on gossip.

Let's stop this speculation, and wait for an official press release. I would like it, and I don't doubt that Andrew would like it as well. Let's just morn a great singer, and leave the shit out of it.

Even if it was suicide, I don't want to know. I don't want his death turned into a media circus a la Anna Nicole.

Until an official cause of death is announced there is no need to disrespect Brad, his family and close friends like this.

I agree, all these speculation are disrespectful.

Even if they will be confirmed - which I highly doubt,he was getting ready to live his life not to end it! - even so,I too don't think I want to know. What's the use?

Just read the news on IMDB... What a tragedy! I can never grasp what makes people think that suicide is a good way out. And he had a fiancee to boot....I feel very sorry for his family right now.

And for the rest of us, for an amazing talent, one of the best male rock voices ever, has gone away for good...

You were of course correct and this is very sad. I was suspicious, but didn't want to think the worst.

EVERY single person in the history of mankind has died from "heart failure." It's what CAUSES that heart failure that is usually what we define as "cause of death."

I live in Mass - so they did a big story on him this morning. This was a quote from his family
"He was a man who gave all he had to give to everyone around him, whether family, friends, fans or strangers," the family said in a statement relayed by police Wednesday. "He gave as long as he could, as best he could, and he was very tired. We take comfort in knowing that he is now, at last, at peace."
