But a few years back, Perry was at some function...and a guy who knew Perry back before his time with Journey came up to him and started catching up....after a while, the guy said...hey man, you know, you've got alot of fans out there that miss you.

Perry's response "They'd better get used to it"...

Sure it's hearsay, I don't give a fuck. If it's true, the guy's a fuckwad.
Hmmmm. Somehow I can believe that. Although, I'm gullible. BUT tht paired with Deano and his insite, I'll have to believe he IS done. I think I'd just like him to say it, then we can all move on.

I have a question.. just wondering what it is that people feels Perry owes them? Not trying to start shit - just truly curious. I mean, Perry dedicated a chunk of his life to Journey. Touring, recording, interviews.. etc. He did this for many years. Now (for whatever reasons) he doesn't (or can't) want to do it anymore. Why does he owe anyone more that what he already gave?
Truly curious..

When I first came here I tried and tried to have that explained to my satisfaction and four years later I still don't understand it. Image

I don't see why anyone needs Perry's permission to move on either. It's as if the very same people who insist Journey was never all about Perry need for him to say unequivocally that he's through so they can get over him. Then they start threads trashing his character because he doesn't. And they say it's the 'loons who can't let go.

Sometimes I worry about these dear people Kim, I really do. Image

There is some guy on the Soprano's that looks just like Perry too. I don't usually watch that one, but when flipping around one day, caught a couple minutes and was like holy shit! Don't know what the actors name is though. :?

He actually owes us nothing..I think everyone just wants closure, but so what...if he doesn't want closure so be it...we need to move on and ENJOY what we have now, which is alot...Neal still plays like a god(hmmm good) and Jeff performs like a monster(good one that is). we should be thankful for what we do have...Jeff even comes on here to meet with his fans and answer questions...where else could u find that....It's time for the future not the past.....can't wait for Saturday...Neal, I want a guitar pick, Deen, I want a drumstick and Jeff hope to get a hug...Ross, need guitar pick from you and Jon!!!!!!!

I disagree. It's a product. It's entertainment. The value of it depends on each persons take of the product. It's a business. Do you owe Blockbuster for all the great movies you've rented? Nope. You've paid them, just as you've paid Journey and Perry for their product. We're all paid up ladies.

Sorry Laura but Michael would be totally wasted on Simmons. Image

The first time I saw him playing a rock singer about 5 or 6(not sure) years ago I thought that was the guy who should play Perry if there was ever a movie. His hair was past his shoulders and he didn't have the facial hair at the time.

Perry fans will always feel like Journey fans owe him. Perry's vocals and contribution to Journey is what "die-hard" fans will always use as a comparison meter for the next guy. It's true that the classics will always be about Perry; but like Jeff said , he is not trying to be Perry; he is bringing to the band a different energy. It does not take away from the root of the music that defines Journey.
I will always love Journey with Perry, but I love the sound of JSS even more! :D
