I think you know what I am saying and you are just baiting me. Promise to make great new material with a MOTIVATED front man, who loves to write music. Did you go to one Journey concert last year?? Did you see JSS lead Journey? He brought an energy to the stage that made an old rock band young again. I wanted more of that, and now they took it away. It's as simple as that.
Give up the troll, baiting, accusations, I don't do either. THANK YOU for answering my question. But.. I find it hard to fathom that the nucleous of a band that has been together for over 30 years, needs to write "great new material" in order to impress their old fans. MAN..what the hell do you expect from these guys? At near 60 do you really think they should / can / want to, sit around and worry about writing the next hit, or something that will please their old or new fan base? This is the time in their career where they should play the hits, go out and rock the fairs, arenas, wal-mart parking lots, etc, etc, who cares where, just jam and have a good time. As good as JSS is, he joined the band about 20 years too late. Back then I could see Journey taking a chance on a new direction because they would have time to win over new fans, etc. But c'mon!!! At their age, to think they would seriously change gears, direction, etc, is a little pompus don't you think? Now's the time we need to remember what these guys did for us years ago, write some great music that clicked with our senses. The last thing we need in the twilight of their career is for them to come out with music that is so far away from the Journey sound we go wtf?? (Even though Generations does that nicely on a few tracks!)
What's next, do you want these guys doing new vids to play on MTV? pffft..

Gee, Paul McCartney doesn't have to even get up in the morning to make money, but he is still making CDs, tours every now and then...and he's in his mid 60s. "Memory Almost Full" is a great CD.
McCartney still has the drive and he's still interesting musically - so I don't think you can say Journey is slowing down due to age; Neal and Jon are hardly ready for the junk heap....unless they chose to dive into it.
