There are a lot of basketball and football players (not the fat guys) that are better all-around athletes than any soccer player. Most of the competitions I've seen between athletes of various sports are typically dominated by American football players.

This is tremendous. No sooner than we get rid of those "assholes" from another site, and we are treated to a new border skirmish...

I'm not the most religious person out there, but I do think a little more tact should be taken here, and on the site in general, when dealing with religion. It's alright to disagree and have different beliefs/opinions.. but that's a bit harsh bro. No hard feelings on ya though.

You would be one of the first ones to cry "Intolerance!!!" if a Christian made a remark like that towards someone else. Practice what you preach, pal.

"What will people think when they hear that I'm a Jesus Freak
What will people do when they find that it's true
I don't really care if they label me a Jesus Freak
Cause there ain't no disguising the truth" - dc Talk, from the album "Jesus Freak" (1995)

Sorry dude...this is a message board...not the politically correct society of America! You're certainly entitled to your opinion and I have no problem with you. That said, I'm surrounded by these religious nutbags EVERY day of my life, asking me "what church do you belong to" and "you really should accept Jesus as your savior". The last one goes over really well when I'm out with my Jewish wife  I make ZERO apologies for attacking these dopes for harrassing me with their "scripture", while I'm trying to get some errands done with my family! As I've said before...religion is a VERY personal thing, and if you're the most religious person on the planet, good for you! Just leave me the fuck out of it and go preach your "gospel" to someone who actually gives a shit!

I understand where you're coming from. That said, you also have to understand where at least a few of these "Bible thumpers" are coming from too. These kind of people have a lot of love for their fellow man, even and especially strangers and their own enemies, because they want everyone to come to know the happiness and security they have. They may pester you and bother you, but that's not their intention and they don't see it as such.

It's okay to turn away their offers and such, but I've learned that alot of Christians don't deserve the kind of jeering that some may send their way, both online and in real life. Just think for a minute before you say something a bit harsh to someone like that, and try to give them the same kindness (even in refusal) that they're trying to give you.

Prog, that was a nicely worded, politically correct answer. However, why does “John From Boston” need to, as he says, attack these dopes for harrassing him with their scripture?

Does John From Boston have something he feels guilty about? I work with a very diverse multi cultural, multi religion base of people. If they choose to speak to me about things I don’t believe in, I certainly won’t crush them.

I think Enigma needs to look in the mirror. Something is amiss if us “bible thumpers” bother him so much.

Maybe he is still crestfallen because his beloved Patriots lost to an obviously inferior NY Giants team.

Did I mention that the Pats Suck?

Quite frankly after your small mindeness earlier on this thread, and your support of the racist comments, no opinion of yours should be listened to. The world is better off without people like you.

By the by, i'm not religous.

I understand EXACTLY where they are coming from, which is why I detest them! They believe that EVERYONE should believe what they believe and pray to their god! I don't believe in that any more than I believe every country should live the way we live in the United States! Honestly, religion isn't the issue for me and never has been. It's religious fanaticism that disturbs me and always will. I grew up in a city where 95% of people were devout Catholics but NEVER once had anyone attempt to force religion down my throat.

ProgRocker53 wrote:These kind of people have a lot of love for their fellow man, even and especially strangers and their own enemies, because they want everyone to come to know the happiness and security they have.

You've made my point. They believe that unless people pray to the same god that they must not have "a lot of love for their fellow man" and simply must not have the "security" that they have (whatever the hell that means)! To intimate that people who go to church are any more charitable or exhibit more "love for their fellow man" is RIDICULOUS!

ProgRocker53 wrote: They may pester you and bother you, but that's not their intention and they don't see it as such.

Just because they don't "see it as such" doesn't make their harrassing behavior any more palatable or acceptable! Most of these people hide behind the bible and have this holier than thou' attitude. For example, I've now received two ridiculous PM's from Mr Jesus himself, stimpy, asking me if I was "homosexual"! That's typical of these god-loving, Jesus freaks! They get up on their soap box and cry out that nobody should ever say anything derogatory about their religion, but would probably lynch some gay guy. For the record, fuckhead (stimpy), I happen to be heterosexual and happily married...thank for asking, you fucking amoeba! As I've said before, you'll NEVER find more religious people anywhere than you'll find in ANY state prison! They may be murderers, rapists, and pedophiles, but they're "Good Christians", so it's all okay

You are a weak human being. You need to publicize the two PMs I sent you? I was only joking around. A real man would have responded. Call me Stimpy, or a Bleeping amoeba all you like. If you had any stones, this conversation would have been over thirty minutes ago.

GO worship Tom Brady...loser!
