I have never retired from here, said I retired here or even hinted as much. I enjoy this place immensely and periodically take a few days off. You'll have to ask Tito why he said that, BJG.

Now this is funny. I believe I was the first and for the most part only person that initially did a 180 on Arnel. If you remember correctly I lost a lot of acquaintances over that decision. Mind you, this pre-dates the influx of Pinoys and occured when it was mainly the old gang...all of whom were horrified at my decision. Listen, leatherface, I'm not gonna argue your sanity as it's pointless. I've met people that have dealt with you (albeit on a limited basis) and they've all assured me that you're certifiable and probably have the papers to prove it.

Hey, man, you ain't exactly movin on hanging around Journey's message boards every day either, now, are ya???

Bet there are scads of loonmen ashamed to admit they are jacking off at the thought of Steve opening his mouth....

(ick....sorry... :D  )

I don't think so. I bought Street Talk when it came out because it sounded like Journey. When I heard his next release, I released he didn't want to be a rock star anymore so I passed on that album. Perry, the person, isn't on most of our minds as we continue on being fans of the band. The guy is almost 60. do you want something that is all protooled to death, that might sound like him in his younger days but isn't really his true sound? That would be too much like a Milli Vanilli type release. We have Escape and Frontiers remastered and the fantastic Captured album. Good enough for me.

Oh, so you are hanging around cuz the sound of Steve Augeri, JSS, or our little ARnel is REALLY HOT and you are just dripping with excitement over them, huh?

Yeah, get in line behind the rest of us loons. I don't buy it!!

:D :D

Yeah, I totally disagree with Gunbots assertions. I'd prefer Journey get SP back at any cost. Arnel is one fantastic vocalist, and can sing circles around most, but there's only one Steve Perry, and he's unmatchable. I did prefer Arnels vocal on Only The Young on the remakes though. That's saying a lot.

What I'm saying is if it's going to be another TBF or ROR, I'd rather have Perry stay retired. Just my 2 cents but if Neal and Jon sold their souls to get Perry to come back and ended up putting out an “Against the wall” type album, I would be very disappointed.

I agree 100%. I don't think anyone thinks Arnel is better than than Perry was, but he's the best thing for the band right now. Perry won't tour and that makes him all but completely useless to Journey. Journey is a live act. Steve Perry hasn't been that but once in 22 years.

Ok asshole, I was playing but not any more. There is no "obession", dummy... Larry and I played around on another board like we have in the past. We are still friends so what does that tell ya? If he was serious he wouldn't have called me on the phone after that...but if you took it as serious who cares. You do 180's for two purposes only...to garner favor with the band and to TRY to get laid! Thats IT! I wouldn't talk about appearances if I were you...my dog's butt looks better then your face...plus your getting fat last I saw. You and I do not have any friends in common so thats bull, too. As far as sanity goes..your the one that's on here everyday reiterating the same crap day in and day out.. your obsessive compulsive to say the least.

Actually, SJ, it may shock you but I kinda agree with you. I wouldn't want Steve back with Journey, and Arnel is doing a good job for what Journey needs right now. I just wanted to poke at some of you guys who pretend that the interest in what Steve is doing is gone. I don't believe that. I think Steve created that magical something when he sang that can't be described but you know it when you hear and feel it. The attachment to him and his voice continues to exist, heightened by the drama between Journey and Steve and all the ensuing arguments over the years between his fans....And the cherry on the cake is the possibility of something new from the man, and the not knowing if it will be great or screechingly horrible.

I mean, this is great soap opera. Who wouldn't be addicted???? Aren't we all loons for this stuff?

"Garner favor with the band???" You really are fuckin' nuts. How is anything I do on here going to get me in the good graces with the band you fuckin' jackal? My relationship with the band is that of a fan...that's it!!! And that's all I want it to be. As far as getting laid goes I sense some resentment in your tone. I'm sure it's disheartening when even your dildo cries at the sight of your septic trench.

I have always maintained that Perry is the best I've ever heard and that hasn't changed. Steve, Neal and Jon certainly do have that "magical something" when they're together. But we can't turn back time and unless Perry suddenly found the fountain of youth I would suspect that his days of recording and touring with Journey are over. I would certainly love to see him perform a song, a show or a few shows with them. Everyone wants that. Well, except Tito.

You don't have to try so hard to prove what a pig you are, I'm already convinced. Your so transparent, playa....you kiss up to the band to try to garner back stage passes for one.. and then to use it like you have some kinda status to impress and entice female fans...which is beyond sad. You always talk like your "in the know"..when you know nothing..just full of bull. Who has dealt with me?...I've only met a couple of posters very, very briefly in passing. The only people I have spent any amount of time with in person and talked to at any length connected to this board in any way are Gary Schutt and Jeremey's wife, Sabrina....and I know that you haven't even met either one...so..as I said, your full of crap. Just because you don't see that you have a problem doesn't mean you don't....and it is not your board to say who can be on it and who can't now is it.

Steeee-rike 1. I've actually given away backstage passes as many times as I've been backstage. The answer to both is once.

I beg you to illustrate one instance where I did this.

Aside from the obvious (the local vet, animal control and the psych ward) I won't be throwing anyone under the bus without their permission. I'm sure they don't want your poodle/mailman tactics employed on them.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure I needn't give you permission... :D ) but didn't you say you wanted to see Steve rejoin Journey IF he apologized to them, but that he can't sing worth shit. So fagetaboutit.

Some of us actually like Steve's music without Journey--granted it isn't the rockin wonderfulness that was Shoen and Perry, but shit, that is over. Steve alone reflects Steve and that is a different animal. Steve alone is better than most of the crap on the radio today in spades. Come on.

It may be old fart music but...ahem....maybe we are old farts.... And Steve can sing old fart music better than anybody....

(Something pathetic about old fart loons and old fat, balding Journey nuts. We shouldn't take ourselves seriously.)

And we who proudly wear the mantle of LOON needn't be ashamed. We are just more honest than the male loons (maleloons? maeloons? melons? Major fruits in any case) who would give a right nut to spend an hour with the great Steve Perry.

That's how *I* think he should be conditionally allowed to return to Journey, but logic tells me that if he decided he wanted to return that they'd let him slide on that. Assuming of course he was contractually obligated to record and tour a minimum amount of dates. I don't think they'll make that same mistake again.

I pretty much agree with what you said, but I'll add this...people should get down on their hands and knees and thank Neal Schon for the new Perry album because had he not kept Journey going there is no way that Perry, at 60 years of age, would be releasing anything. This is, as you mentioned, his ego not letting him take a backseat to Journey.

I haven't read every page of this thread yet, but who here in their right mind would think Perry just woke up one day AFTER JOURNEY released Revelation(and had some minor success with it) and said to himself.....
"Damn...I gotta write an entire CD today and get it out there right now to compete with Schon and Cain". Anybody that believes that Perry half-assed a bunch of songs, threw them on a CD and is doing this to prove something to Journey is an idiot. If he was going to do that, it would have happened in the beginning when Augeri replaced him. Neal threw out a challenge to Perry years ago and said he didn't know what Perry was waiting for to do a solo CD. Perry did nothing for years after that remark.
People should get down on their hands and knees and THANK NEAL SCHON??? WTF???? SJ, answer your door. The dudes in the white coats are there to pick you up. You're off the deep end on this one. Perry works on his own time schedule with his own muse....whatever it is. If you've learned nothing else about him, that's one that doesn't take a genius to figure out.

Really? I could have sworn that I met Sabrina at Vader's house in Virginia. Wasn't she the one they threw the bridal shower for?
Oh...are you trying to imply that Sabrina said something derogatory about me then? No way! Since, as I said, she is one of only two people I have spent time with and talked at any length to then thats what you must be implying and there's no way that I would believe that for a minute coming from her so strike 3 for you. Anyway..you sure are back peddling awful fast! Naa..there are things I could say but I won't..not for your sake but for other's who have made the mistake of getting involved with you...they've suffered enough, in my opinon and should not have to endure more ..plus, thats not my style to drag others into something.....it's your's obviously, but not mine...and I don't start going down this road of getting personal unless you bring it at me, then I'll fling it back...so don't throw crap at someone unless you want some. Plus you shouldn't go off the deep end at a very small joke like that at someone....your losing it and obviously have some issues. Now take a deep breath ... let it go and enjoy your evening, I've got better things to do. 8)

Backpeddling about what? I don't care what you throw around. And I agree with you on not throwing other peoples' names around. But don't ever think that for even one second that I'd give a shit about anything you or anyone else could throw at me. Goodnight, ma'am.

That's how *I* think he should be conditionally allowed to return to Journey, but logic tells me that if he decided he wanted to return that they'd let him slide on that. Assuming of course he was contractually obligated to record and tour a minimum amount of dates. I don't think they'll make that same mistake again.

OMFG!!! He should be 'allowed' to 'conditionally' re-join Journey. Lay down the crack pipe, Dan. Neal would suck him off to get him back, and we ALL know it. 8)

He won't tour so he's useless to Journey.
