God, do I agree. Poor Perry. No wonder he is so private. I had no clue there were grown women who belonged to these fan clubs that crossed the line and stalked him and obssess over him. Freaky.

We loons have to stick together...............I still have all my Journey Force and SPIN stuff. I also collect photos, and I don't care who doesn't like it. Now if that makes me a loon I know I am not alone, and I am in good company with quite a few others who do the same. As I said I have no desire to invade the mans life. But it would be nice to say hi, and thank him for the great tunes.

No, they don't want to mess with me. Some of them used to post here, under the guise of liking the board and the posters and the board's boss, got banned, probably are still here somehow. Of that I have no doubt. They were really talented with computers. But real pieces of work, if you know what I mean. Totally creepy-obsessed with Perry. They thought nobody would ever find out what they were up to.

I consider Perry to be my number one favorite singer of all time with his body of work. But I'm no loon. I oonsider a loon (my definition) to be a mother hen cluckin' everytime one critical thing is mentioned on here and wants only praise and pining and lusting (by some) for him and talking endlessly for years when will he be back. Nope, not me. I was excited to hear he finally may release a new CD but have been disappointed in his behavior as of late re the total secrecy. So I'm over all that and will wait and when he decides to announce he's putting out a new CD or touring, then I will be excited. I just play my Journey CDs ad nauseum and consider myself a fan of a singer who hasn't performed live with Journey for 22 years except the one time for the memorial, and hasn't played live solo for almost 13 years. If Journey wasn't still around for all these years performing I would not be on a fan board of Journey. It would be in the past and I would just listen to the music.

So let me introduce myself. Hi, I'm Jana, I'm no loon, but an admiring Steve Perry fan and an avid Journey fan.

See, this is what makes this board so great …and entertaining . Such divergent views and opinions…we can’t even come to agreement on what comprises a loon ..lol. Don’t know who or where it originated, I’ve always thought of it as just a label for being a devoted fan. Seriously, we all have learned their entire history and “think” we know them. I’m going to guess-timate only about 5% of all perryloons would say he’s a perfect human being (with a straight face) or go as far as delving into his personal affairs (these people must not have lives). I don't know what all this stalkers or playing with bar soap talk is all about or whom the talk is related to, but it's better to stay ignorant, I guess .

I wouldn’t go as far as saying only loons would rise up and defend their man come hell or high water, either. What about the wigglers? Some of them still think Tapegate was a conspiracy made up by a few haters and SA never lip-synched. And I dare say Arnel’s Army is approaching legend status in the sheer volume and number of uploaded youtube videos showing Arnel talking, smiling, singing …

Neal has his share of devoted fans, too. They may not be as vocal (okay, as obnoxious as some perryloons), but for every criticism of Neal and his many “foot in the mouth” comments in the press, Neal fans will quickly jump to the rescue with explanations (extrapolations). Jon is the only one I see lacking in having “apologists” around this board. Oops, forgot about Tito…I think he mostly goes for effect, though ...not a tried and true “apologist” .

Interesting, someone brought up a “Mrs. Kravitz” as a poster. I remember back in the old days, when it was the loons vs. goons every day around here, Yak (a goon) had as his avatar a pix of a very nude Nicole Kidman (who very seriously dated the musician Lenny Kravitz). Okay, just 'cuz I have a SP avatar doesn't make me a "loon-a-tic". Love his voice, love his music, love his character (from what I have read/seen), but I would never do weird-ass $hit like stalking, hanging at his haunts, delving into private documents, etc. That's seriously disturbed!
