The guy has gained about 400 pounds, looks better than me with a light case of morning seasonal allergies, and appears generally vibrant. It's a conspiracy!
I was SO going to write this, the first sentence anyway.
I mean come on, after all these years that he's supposedly had it too!
There are good drugs now, and life expectancies are much higher now with them. But guess who gets the best doctor's and treatments in this country??? You guessed it! The rich!! He has the means. Maybe wait gain is a side effect?

I realize that, but come on, living longer is one thing, but the guy looks like a million bucks (and like he's had about a million cheeseburgers). Compare his appearance to, say, Chuck Panozzo from Styx. I doubt he's destitute and I know from reading his book that he's had a lot of care/drugs etc. The guy can barely walk up onto the stage when he makes cameos at Styx concerts any more.
Well, there are other variables. It depends on the strain of HIV and how well he responds to the meds, and how on top of things they are with his medical care. He doesnt' have AIDS yet, he is just infected from the virus. You don't start losing weight and looking bad until the virus starts to make you sick. They have obviously been able to keep that from happening. And there are cases of babies, born with HIV who have sero-converted and are pretty much cured on their own, after being medicated, and they have no idea why. It's actually a bad thing for people to see him looking so well, because they think... "oh look at Magic, he's still alive, I'm not worried" But good for him. I would never wish death on anyone!
You are a nurse right? Thanks for the info. I know enough from reading about people with HIV/AIDS and even movies like Philadelphia to know that that is some SCARY shit. I can't imagine getting the news that I tested positive. Can't imagine too many worse things, at least you have some kind of chance even with some of the worst other terminal illnesses.
No, Medical Technologist (laboratory tester in simple terms

) But we get a 4 year BS and a year in hospital lab rotations, and we have to keep up with continuing ed. which includes a whole course on HIV every 2 years to keep my license current, even though I have taken a break from the field to raise my kids

( I only say all that cause most people have no idea what a Med Tech does

) I worked in blood banking as my specialty though.
