I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that they removed the videos so fans don't get a flawed first impression of the new songs. The 30 second album clip of City Of Hope sounded incredibly good from a production standpoint, and it had those layered vocals and incredible sonic that you can only get from the album version. They probably want the first listen for the majority of U.S. fans to be the album version. I had already issued a self-imposed moritarium on listening to the new clips before they disappeared so it didn't bother me. And I doubt you cared much either, Rip.

You're correct -- it's really the band's decision and I was kind of prepared that it might happen. Plenty of people saw then while they were up, so that was fortunate enough. Of course, I would have been happier to remove them on request, instead of waking up with an inbox full of 2nd strike notices from YT, but that's just business. That alone is enough to keep me from posting any more band videos for a while. Except maybe in Dallas this weekend. :)

the last I knew they only 'allowed' "disposable" cameras. In fact, during an Augeri concert, security had the guy standing next to me remove the film from his 35mm camera and give it to him.

So, if you take a camera, be mindful of where security is - especially "Journey" security.

So, havent posted here in ages, but this ticked me off enough to come out of hiding...

Since YouTube was ordered to pay millions in back ASCAP fees, and start paying them like they should have been, how can Journey force them to delete Tribute band vids??

I would think YouTube should say "OK, but we are reporting that to ASCAP and BMI, and have them lessen your share of the fees accordingly"..

I think it's the youtube links on the individual tribute band websites that need to be removed.

So you agree with this action and think it's a good idea?

Are you referring to me or Don?
