Nice to see this thread alive again,it's always fun to see pics of MelRockers popping up!

Y'all look great -- including the cans!
A good place to share some of the pics I took last week while I was in Berlin - a dream trip for me,many great things to discover...
Some of them are below,if anyone's interested -- enjoy!
I've been wanting to see The Wall (or what's left of it) for a long time,as well as the Reichstag (I've been reading a lot of books about Hitler's life and the Third Reich) ...it was a thrill to see that in real life.Still has a somber feeling to it...maybe the walls have kept all that negative energy inside.I didn't go in,the lines were absurd.
On the front it reads "Dem Deutschen Volke" -- "To The German People"
..and yeah, that's my Journey T-shirt...Makes me sad now.
Next is The Berlin Wall. This is where it all started in August 1961 and also ended in 1989 when it was dismantled and the entire Eastern Europe changed.
Small parts of the Wall are sold as souvenirs, the bigger parts are in Museums or even auctioned for large sums of money.
There is a mark going all around the city showing where the Wall was,but this part was kept for all to see.Grafitti artists have done gorgeous things on it...The American Flag is everywhere.Germans respect the US...I also noticed people being very warm and friendly when hearing me speaking English...Nice.
Then I got to Checkpoint Charlie - the place where the Allied forces (The US,UK and France) were guarding the "border" between East and West Berlin.
It's still a symbol of the Cold War and it stood as the ticket to freedom for many Easterners.
The pic was taken in the American sector of CC (rainy day

)...I saw a lot of American tourists that day, they love this stuff. The Russian sector is succesful too,LOL...I wasn't too curious, tho.
The famous sign is still there untouched.
Speaking of Russians, there are a lot of them living in Berlin, some are selling the renown Matrioska dolls, but they adapted to the modern times...
These ones cracked me up!
Of course, inside the big doll there are smaller ones...

little Bon Jovis,Popes,Jaggers,Madonnas...Funny stuff.
Expensive as all hell also, they are handmade and painted.
Now the Brandenburg Gate -- another part of the European history, right at the end of the famous Under dem Linden street.
Ok,something for fun...Close to the B. Gate it's the Adlon Hotel. That's where Michael Jackson was photographed holding his son over the balcony -- I guess you all remember that!

Had to take a pic of that place (and I wasn't the only one looking up,LOL)
What else?
Yeah, this one -- the most fascinating shopping center I've seen.Entirely made of glass, with a futuristic architecture...It's called "LaFayette"
Then the
Reichstag made of chocolate!
One of the best days was the one I spent in Potsdamer Platz and got to see a 3D movie at the iMax Cinema in the evening.
It was the best 45 minutes ever!
Saw "Haunted Castle" -- anyone knows it?It's about a guitar player who is supposed to sell his soul to the Devil in order to have fame and fortune.

Sounds familiar?...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=et6Fhif5Mj8 (the soundtrack is SO cool!)
Seriously,Fro popped in my mind while I was watching.
I had a big smile when it was over...Mystery solved.
Ok,that's about it...
Umm,I had a few German beers but I won't post those pics.
Instead, here's a toast with a chocolate cocktail -- Germany has the BEST chocolate in the world,I'm tellin' ya!
