Trust me, their fan base is far from intact...have you seen the sales figures for Generations lately?

Exactly. Everyone who posts here still cares and will buy their music and go to their shows. It's Journey.

Actually, not any more...it's Fucka, Fro, 2 hired thugs and some unfortunate bastard, yet-to-be-named tribute singer. I could put together a band that's closer to Journey than what they've got right now....

And again, you and others miss my point....my fight is no longer with the shitheads currently in this so called band that scuttled Journey. My attention has been turned to those that are ever so willing to forget this and move on....allowing these shitheads to continue to damage what's left of Journey's legacy.

I still can't help but crack up when I see the pic in your sig. Actually, it makes me think of the classic that TNC came up with on the original pic for that...

I need to resurrect that "Greatest Hits" thread I made with his quotes. Classic stuff.

They're not performing at all so yeah - not much going on in the attendance department.

Trust you? Why would I have to trust you when I can see/hear/understand with my own faculties?

The fact that you're here trying to derail fans is enough proof to me that the fan base is intact otherwise you'd not have much to say!

I nearly had a seizure reading the GH thread! Way funny stuff!

Hey - the visual with Neal in the Napolean costume takes TNC's remarks to another level! It was one thing to read them in context with the original photo but the Napolean thing takes it all beyond hysterical!

Deb, you can make arguments either way for it. Their legacy? Who's legacy? Neal and Jon's? Because I gaurantee you Ross doesn't have a vote in band decissions. Neither does Deen. They cash their paychecks and pay their bills with them.

Does Perry have a say? He said it himself (although I find it tremendously hard to believe anything that man says) on the Behind The Music..."Don't crack the Stone..."

So really, it all boils down to....who's making decissions to affect Journey's legacy...it certainly isn't a collective decission based on the original (or semi-original) members/shareholders. Herbie has nothing to do with this....neither does Smitty....or Perry...or Ross or Gregg....it's Just Jon and Neal.....

but really, is it up to them?

Sure, they can do what they want....but lets face it...what motivates Jo and Neal. If you haven't figured out that Money motivates cain....Money (so long as the allimony is paid off) also motivates Neal.....in addition to having a fresh piece of pussy to plow through every so often....

The money wouldn't be there if the fans made their feelings known....and stopped showing up.

At what stage will you stop going to Journey shows?

When the only original member left is Neal? and he's surrounded by fat balding players culled from tribute bands across the US?
When Journey is nothing but Neal playing live with a pre-recorded tape of 4 other players?
Where every where you go, Journey carries a similar stigma to Right Said Fred and Milli Vanilli?

Will people care then?

As long as there are people to sell tickets to, Neal and Jon will run this fucking thing into the ground....I'm convinced of it and have been for a long time. I'm just quite shocked that there are still people out that don't see it clearly, given the events of the past year?

You make some good points Frank, but it ultimately has to be a personal decision for each of us. My experience has been that when there are emotions involved like there are with our feelings about Journey and it's music, most people will not not change their way of thinking based on other people's rants and bashing. Usually when that is how the subjects are broached, the gut reaction is to not put much stock into what is being said.

Personally I have only ever been to one journey show. My love of the music and my support as a fan have been through album, cd, & dvd purchases. I was unable to ever see them with Perry, and although I am a self admitted loon, I did go to see them once with Augeri. It was not what I had always hoped my first Journey show would be, even though it was enjoyable, it felt as if something was lacking. I did not feel that JSS was a good fit with Journey music, so I never saw them with him. If they do indeed bring Jeremey in, I will see them regardless of the rest of the band, as I love and support Jeremey in whatever he does.

To me journey is just a band( I know shreiks of horror, but it's a fact),nevertheless they are talented guys who can make music, a talent that a lot of people on here would envy and give anything to do. If they announced tomorrow that they were no more then fine, whatever happens happens, because they are a band. I am not emotionally attached to them, although I love the music. But whatever, at the end of the day, they do what they do it is their decision.
I have a life outside all of this as I am sure everyone else does( although some people on here do seem a little too embroiled in everything Journey). I don't live and breath Journey, or for that matter The Scorpions, Masterplan, Rammstein,Wig Wam, Bonfire, Evidence One, Gotthard , Jorn Lande ,Vengeance Iron Maiden or any of the bands/singers that I am Into. I simply appreciate the creativity, and beauty& brilliance of the composition...
I detest the way that they ( Journey) have gone about their business over the last year or two, with SA & JSS, but that is a separate issue to creativity.
And I think that is where the crux of the matter lies. Creativity & bad business are two separate issues. So really this whole thread is one big confusion of thoughts, feelings, ideas and angst. None of which will make a blind bit of difference to Journey, because when all is said and done they are just people's inner thoughts on a situation that is without their control.

So just have fun.

Just my take on things

Nope I'm just a practical person ( I' am this objective about Art too, being an artist):D , and maybe my priorities and ethos is different to others, I don't know. But I do have my reasons and own history for that...well it's time for the land of nod here, so I am off to bed.Up early in the morning as we are back on flood warning as of tomorrow where I live ....oh blooming joy of joys!!! ...

So you're saying that you have a life?

The Garden of Eden can't be found on a map. It's not a geographical location. It's right where you are - if you're in the spirit.

My first live Journey experience was with Jeff, and a wonderful one it was, I adore the guy. But other than that I agree with everything you said.

Like Eric said on here a while back, I want to stay a Journey fan, and if they're going to go on trying to keep the Perry sound I can't think of anyone I'd rather hear singing those songs than Jeremey.

 :) :)
