But if Jeremey were in the band, let me guess, it would be sold out by now right?

Even with Perry it wouldn't sell out. But JSS or Jeremey would have been a great fit since Perry has put down the mic for good.

Oh ok Sherrie. What a stupid fucking comment. Faux Journey? So you really do think Frontiers is the Real Journey huh?

I got news for you Sherrie and all your buddies. You can be pissed and still be pissed, but you all look like fucking idiots who call Journey Faux Journey. I can pretty much guarantee you Journey, err, Faux Journey or Exotic Journey can basically roll Frontiers into a ball of shit and spit em out.

Let me guess, if Jeremey were fronting Journey the only difference would be you would be backing them.

Complete foolery.

Why is it foolery? We don't like the way they treated Jeff and Jeremey. Fuck them.

A Perry led Journey also sold a million copies of an album after being gone for almost 10 years, on the heels of the grunge era and with no tour support. If they toured I'll bet they could have sold at least another 500,000 copies on top of.

Journey's fan base was huge in their heyday and those that are still alive ( ) remember the band with Perry in the mix.

If Perry came back, they'd flock to shows in a heartbeat and I'd bet my bottom dollar Journey would do just as well as Van Halen and the Police did on their recent tours.

Speak at least 4th grade english dude.

Faux Journey or Exotic Journey are just immature names given by a number of people who have lost their way.

Keep telling yourself the REAL Journey is Frontiers and the Faux and Exotic Journey make CD's and play live across the country.

Here is my take from someone who likes all three bands equally- for what it's worth...

1st 90% of concert goers will have no idea that Journey has a new CD out because it will be badly promoted and it won't get any radio airplay. I hate to say that but it's true for any of the classic bands with few exceptions.

2nd Journey's following is with those of us that grew up with them in the late 70's early 80's, and it as a rule is with people that would be considers rockers.

3rd Heart got a lot of exposure with the CMT Crossroads show.

4th Hearts fan base crosses further into the Adult Contemporary radio format than Journey does giving their greatet hits more airplay.

5th Cheap Trick rocks but will be the opener

conclusion....

Heart and Journey alternate the closing position, and depending on what part of the country you are in the closer will loose 1/4 of the crowd due to the late hour that they will start their set.

I fear that those of us that frequent boards like this and constantly discuss our favorite bands forget that the general public could care less about band politics / lead singers / new material. To be honest none of those thigs are going to make much of a dent in ticket sales. People go to concerts to hear the songs they loved in their youth. As long a the lead singer in a band like Journey sounds pretty close, they are OK with it and half probably won't know the difference. Heart is a different animal in that the singer is all that matters and the backing band can come and go, as long as Ann and Nancy are there nothing else matters. I'm sure that most of you will disagree with me on this, but from what I've seen it's just the way it is. This is a nostalgia (spelling?) tour and you can't make it into anything else.

If it gets anywhere near Nashville I'll probably check it out because I love the music of all three bands.

As far as I'm concerned, Journey is who Journey says Journey is.

And right now, Journey consists of Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronovo, and Arnel Pineda.

I think you are right on the money with that statement, with Perry back they would have something to promote the tour with, "For the first time in "X" years the original Journey line up is back and better than ever" that would get the general public's attention and make the show an "event". Right now Journey, like most of it's contemporarys are just another cool old band to go see.

Well maybe 20,000 is pushing it a bit. But on 30th anniversary tour they were selling out amphitheaters on a fairly regular basis. I personally saw two sold out shows - Sacramento Sleeptrain Amphitheater with an advertised capacity of 18,500, and Concord Sleeptrain Pavillion with a capacity of 13,000 I believe. Both shows were announced as sell outs and were packed.

If they only sold 1800 seats in State College, PA. I would definately make it a point to not play there again if I was doing the booking for the band.

Dano, California is Journey's home state. They always do well here, and I agree with you, I bet they didn't do half as well in Carolina or W VA.

THis question? OK.

I bashed the band, yes, but I did it far differently than some. I refrained from the racial bullshit and the fact Pineda is Fillipino. That's donnas ridiculous argument, as well as a few others. In any event, Arnel can flat out sing, and why in the Hell do you fucking people resort to childish antics, such as "Arnel eats dogs?" You have any idea how fucking stupid you look?

As for me getting on the bandwagon, that isn't me, that's St John. Hey if that's what he wants to do so be it. I am not there yet. I am going to Vegas to meet people, you know, how your gang always cheered and bragged about? The only difference between the people going to Vegas and your clique, is there is no mental tweaking going on in the Vegas contingent. No lying, backstabbing or edited IM's. I am going to meet folks, and maybe hit the show, I don't know.

You're going to a Journey show and you support their decision to hire Arnel. Sounds like you are on the bandwagon to me. And that's fine - like I said before, I hope you have a great time. As far as the other drama, I am not involved in that either. I stay away from drama while others seem to crave it.

I would possibly go to a show this year for the reason to see people and friends that I have met over the years and maybe hang with them before and after the show. For me, and that is just me, to sit through their set or go to see them, means that I support their decisions and choices over the past year or so and the way things were handled and the way that they treated BOTH JSS and SA and I just can not do that,.
I can listen to the cds from the SA and SP era and the dvds and go see Evolution if I want to hear the songs. I can not
go to a show and let them think I support them and their choices and decisons when I do not,.
I cannot in all honesty see some of the friends that I have met traveling far to see them and that is too bad.
Just my opinion and how I look at things.
BTw I saw michael Bolton on that tour and he did one headline show in ct, and he had Jon, Jon's brother on drums and Ross Valory with him. There was another guy on guitar I do not recall his name, however it was not Neal.
