GPS - Window to your soul. The "Asia leftovers" did a great record, the titletrack is really pompous rock with an heavy riff, I like it much more than the last Asia record. 8)

Cut Runs Deep - Deep Purple

I am one of those who like their Slaves and Masters album with Turner singing. It is its very own, though, a perfect mix of Purple and Rainbow.

Dangerous - Roxette

Off the only Roxette album I like: Look Sharp!

Easily one of the best pop records of the 80s.

NP: Fire ~ Streets

Streets was a pretty good AOR band that put out a couple of albums, "1st" in '83 and "Crimes in Mind" in '85. This was Steve Walsh's project in between the time he left Kansas in the early 80s and '86 when he came back to the band to release "Power".

Conversationpc, seems like we share the same musical tastes 8)
Streets, with Walsh on vocals but also with Mike Slamer on guitar and Billy Greer on bass, released 2 great records.
Back to The Devil Game, it is really a strong track. My fav Kansas record is Song for America... that song is beautiful...

Walsh was still at the top of his game with Streets. I noticed a change in his voice as early as "Audio-Visions" but he still sounded very strong up through "Crimes in Mind" with Streets. His voice slipped a bit with "Power" and "In the Spirit of Things", though he still sounded pretty good and then by the time "Live at the Whisky" came out in '92, he sounded horrible. Fortunately, he's cleaned up his act and is sounding better now than he has in years.

Anyway...The title track on "Song for America" is my favorite by Kansas. I've always wished I could take the vocals from the studio track and replace the ones in the "Live at the Whisky" version. The music is so dynamic from that show, but Walsh's voice during that period was at its worst. Even he admits that he is embarrassed by that album.

NP: Smoke on the Water ~ Deep Purple

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MSyFA84u48 This is from the DP lineup that I had the chance to see a few years ago. Jon Lord is still in the band at this point and Morse plays a montage of famous riffs before launching into the "Smoke on the Water" riff. Cool stuff.
