Just got in from a nite of hard work & spotted this threat 1st thing. Groan. 7 fucking pages of what? Best posts were from Jeff.
Hey kid, u wanna come to FL & do some bouncing for us? We have lots of drunk jerks that show up during snowbird season. Maybe u could be a tough guy in Real Life & actually earn a living doing it in a bar? U in? We need tough guys. But u might get beat up. That ok?
Before u do that, u might want to go back & listen to some boots. Take a listen to Steve Perry back from 79-83, his best yrs. Then listen to the boot Deano put up of Jeff recently from Atlantic City. After ur done w/that kid, go back & listen to Augeri boots (erm I mean in the studio). Listen to a few. Hear the early ones, then hear the later ones. Actually don't bother. It's all the same.
Not that I think I'll convince u, but I'm a total fucking Perry Head all the way. I thought Augie was ok, good for a concert, better than nothing, but a bit mild for my taste. I liked the rockin' Perry goin' gangbusters balls to the walls to make it a show. To me, Augie was a bit too mild & elevator-music-ish. I heard Jeff in WPB in July & I wasn't sold on him w/Journey. I liked his style. I liked him w/SS a lot. But I wasn't totally convinced he could cut the Perry highs w/Journey. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as that was his 3rd show. Who the fuck is brilliant their 3rd show? Especially mid-tour. Then, I heard Deano's recent boots & I fucking cried. U know what, I'm a girl, but I ain't no wimpy ass chick. I deal w/assholes all nite long. I couldn't believe how Jeff hit those notes w/a bit of practice. U know what, he didn't just hit 'em straining either, he hit 'em w/soul. & have u heard his lows? Cos they'll blow ur fucking mind away. I can't wait till the next show. I know I'm gonna have a ball. It's more in the line of what Perry brought-rockin' music-than Augie could ever do. But Jeff ain't no karaoke act either. He's spent a long time doing his thang & he's gonna bring that w/him regardless of who he performs with.
As to him posting here, aren't we lucky. What a helluva guy. & he laughs at himself too. & gives us an insight into Jeff the man. More than ull ever do kid, I'm afraid.
U never even saw Augie live. Well I did. I have boots. Wanna hear em? U ought to listen to a few. Then make ur comparisons.
Jeff, u are amazing. U gave me major comedy tonite seeing ur responses. Bravo. U are such a real man.
& u know what, one thing Jeff said is so true. Watch all the reviews of Jeff w/Journey. Watch him do this better & better & endear more & more fans. Read about everyone having a great time. While u do that, sit at home & enjoy the protooled 01 DVD & enjoy urself. The rest of us will be out at the live shows having a ball. Because this is the best Journey has been in a long, long, long time. I've waited over 20 yrs for this kinda revival of Journey. Long overdue, but I'm gonna be here for it. Jeff has given me back Journey & for that, I'll be grateful.
BTW I'm real sorry ur BackTalk forum is closed for the weekend. U must be in withdrawal. Awww.
