what a day!!!!!

We started the day. With a bang when we joined for breakfast by the Wombat himself. After that, the day was pretty uneventful.......... hehe

Talon started it off with bang singing songs from their new album "Fallen Angels".

Loud and Clear is the surprise talent for me. We had an acoustic teaser at the meet and greet last night and vowed to not miss that show today. Wow. Jess Harnell is a consumate performer and entertainer with a voice that won't quit. Wow

We went to lunch and walked in on a huge ovation for Paul Laine. Maybe we shouldn't have skipped that. Matt will gave to help us with that one.

Hugo and valentine had the whole house singing every word! Amazing.

JSS. Omgosh. Rocked the SCHUTT outta the place. Setlist? Heck no! Songs 1st time live were Mountain, testify and Our Song.

By the way can I say how great it was to meet all of you!! And it was really great to see so many of the acts on stage (at least six of em) mention Wombat and thank him for "keeping this music alive". Couldnt agree more

We have both ... what we don't have is sleep or time to post much. Up till 4:00 a.m. at the afterparty and then back up at 8:00 for breakfast. Off in a few to tour Nottingham castle and then catch the train to liverpool.

Here's a couple more pics and a shout out for a new favorite band: White Sister won our personal "best band" trophy (not counting JSSB & Tall Stories, of course); they were amazing! I hadn't heard any of their music before and was simply blown away, as was almost everyone else we talked to. Pics w/ the keyboard players below; the one in the shot w/ Deb is Kyle Frost, who we had a chance to talk to after the show for quite a while; way cool and interesting guy; he's got solo stuff too. Itunes, here I come ...

Yeah, they *tried* to do that at South Bend, but the majority of the audience didn't have a clue , so they went with "Plan B" which was a Journey song. I *SO* would have preferred Plan A.

This is when being a self employed singer sucks. Gigs are always at weekends, and I miss stuff. Also, if we don't do the gig we don't get paid.

It would have been great to meet those MR rockers who are attending, but I am looking forward to seeing the fabulous photo's I know Marty will provide us with shortly after the event.

What does 'gutted mean" ? are you broke and trashed?

Gutted, along with "Nutter" and "bollocks" one of the first British expressons I learned when I moved over here from Minnesota.

To define it in a nutshell : "Super Hot girl is sitting in the bar, and you are looking at her for four hours, drinking sixteen beers thinking shell never look at me. About 2 in the morning she walks over to you and says I was hoping to speak to you hours ago, but Im too shy to say hi - I wished youd have come over earlier. I think this could be love at first sight. She gives you a kiss but THen her ugly jealous friend says gotta go home now and drags her off and you dont get a phone number. You immediately get a horrible sick feeling in your stomach and you know its not the alchohol because you are well known to be able to consume a whole bottle of tequila without even getting a buzz. Over the next 20 years every time you jerk off to the memory, every you reflect on your fading glory and now pathetic middle age life you get that same sick feeling.

that sick feeling is GUTTED. Any questions????
