It's off now. The link I provided had a live feed earlier. Rip had on a hat that people in rice fields wear...that's the only way I can describe it. Man, he looked funny. :lol:

Wow, I was stunned since last night when SJ started the thread it was at 3,800 hits before we went out to dinner tonight, and now it's at 4,600. This really is the entertainment of the night, I guess. Very entertaining read. Thanks :lol:

100% no for 08, no chance in hell in early 09. You would expect several months of P&R, concert dates announced, etc, to conicide with the cd release. There is nothing anywhere about anything SP related. IF we hear official news from the SP camp sometime this year or early next, expect a summer or fall release.

The only thing that "might" happen earlier and rather quiet, is if he decided to go all indie and digital. Then you could possibly wake up one morning and his new music is on itunes with no previous annoucements. But if it's a big deal with a major publisher, we would have heard about it by now. (For a 08 early 09 release.)

Actually, SJ, it may shock you but I kinda agree with you. I wouldn't want Steve back with Journey, and Arnel is doing a good job for what Journey needs right now. I just wanted to poke at some of you guys who pretend that the interest in what Steve is doing is gone. I don't believe that. I think Steve created that magical something when he sang that can't be described but you know it when you hear and feel it. The attachment to him and his voice continues to exist, heightened by the drama between Journey and Steve and all the ensuing arguments over the years between his fans....And the cherry on the cake is the possibility of something new from the man, and the not knowing if it will be great or screechingly horrible.

I have always maintained that Perry is the best I've ever heard and that hasn't changed. Steve, Neal and Jon certainly do have that "magical something" when they're together. But we can't turn back time and unless Perry suddenly found the fountain of youth I would suspect that his days of recording and touring with Journey are over. I would certainly love to see him perform a song, a show or a few shows with them. Everyone wants that. Well, except Tito.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure I needn't give you permission... ) but didn't you say you wanted to see Steve rejoin Journey IF he apologized to them, but that he can't sing worth shit. So fagetaboutit.

Some of us actually like Steve's music without Journey--granted it isn't the rockin wonderfulness that was Shoen and Perry, but shit, that is over. Steve alone reflects Steve and that is a different animal. Steve alone is better than most of the crap on the radio today in spades. Come on.

It may be old fart music but...ahem....maybe we are old farts.... And Steve can sing old fart music better than anybody....
