Chubster, remember when you play in this sand box ya gotta bring your guts and sense of humor with you.

I've been a member here since October 2008 with only 40 posts so far although I spent way much more time here than on AP's 2 sites. I've been lurking from outside the fence tyring to learn the ropes and toughen-up my 'guts and sense of humor' on how the games are being played 'in this sand box'. Now I feel confident that I am ready to step into the sand box . . . hell, even with Deano in it, mano-a-mano. :D

Not with a gay signature like that. Change it to Deano eats Dick for a couple of weeks just to get yourself started on the right foot.

I swear to God . . . I hope I made the right decision by following your suggestion, Gunbot!

(Note to Deano: Gunbot made me do it!)

This will be good for some entertainment!!!

Perry deserves every fucking cent he gets from this band. Without him, they aren't touring this year. Understand that asshole? It sounds terrible no matter who sings it. It might have been cool as an instrumental intro to another song but much like Backtalk sounds like album filler, to me.

It sounds like they were trying to make an updated version of Line Of Fire with DOA.

I did not say that; Deano did. The phrase in bold letters seem to mean: The crowd is coming to hear Perry's voice even though they knew it's Arnel up there, for almost two years now. If Arnel doesn't sound like Perry, so much the better. THE CROWD comes to hear and see Arnel's take of Journey with Journey.

I must just be stupid...Yes he is part of it...BUT this so-called success is:

1. He did not write anything on Revelation
2. 1/2 of the Platinum Album is re-records of Perry era music
3. The set-list is mostly Perry era songs
4. He does still have probelms with dicton and delivery IMHO
5. Yes they are selling tickets but when anyone mentions getting rid of the dirty dozen (GASP) we are told that the new fans will boo and go get beer.

So I just don't get the great success that everyone is so excited about......I know duck and RUN for cover

Umm I don't think he is delivering Perry's voice (unless of course there is a tape invloved) then of course it would be effortless.

I did not say that; Deano did. The phrase in bold letters seem to mean: The crown is coming to hear Perry's voice even though they knew it's Arnel up there and not Perry, for almost two years now. If Arnel doesn't sound like Perry, so much the better, THE CROWD comes to hear and see Arnel with Journey.

I agree.

But they come to see him sing Perry ERA songs...not the new songs and that is a probelm....that is called a COVER BAND!!

This clip sounds pretty good, but the camera work will make you sea sick.

I disagree. It sounds like he is reading from a teleprompter. I never liked the original but it seems like it is slowed down with Arnel as he is trying to get the lyrics exactly right. I can't even imagine this year's version played stepped down.

I've never liked that song. So I hope they don't play it down here. There's others I would much rather hear.

You are a shitty poster. Fuck, I hate you. You pom pom sonofabitch. Look, your boy is good, but you assholes comparing him to Perry is nauseating.

Perry deserves every fucking cent he gets from this band. Without him, they aren't touring this year. Understand that asshole? Perry's coat tails carried these slugs for so long, and it's proven even now...look at their setlist- every song the crowd comes to hear is because of Perry's voice or writing. When Neal writes a top ten song, let me know, ok?

. . . which Arnel can deliver effortlessly. Otherwise why would "the crowd" bother to come at all, right? (Running for cover!) :!:

bullshit. they come to see Journey. Not arnels take. Hell, RockinDEano could be the lead vocalist and they'd come to see them because it says JOURNEY on the ticket.

Already been part of a platinum album that's the most successful since at LEAST TBF, the most successful tour since at least ROR and a handful of charting songs from Revelation.

You're so full of shit your eyes are brown.

1) His job is lead vocalist not lead ghost writer
2) The CHARTING singles from Revelation, as compiled by Billboard, are from Disc 1 of Revelation.
3) Of COURSE the setlist is mostly Perry era songs, the Pineda lineup is all of 1 album deep. How many singles off Infinity charted and how high compared to the Revelation singles?
4) The much-maligned by about 20-or-under people online "diction issues" are negligible to barely even perceptible to most.
5) too subjective to even bother addressing except the "we are told" part. Who is "telling" you this, exactly?

Joe, there was a thread around here somewhere were it was mentioned that Journey played a bunch of Steve Augeri era songs and people were booing, so the assumption becomes that casual fans like the dirty dozen and some imply that the belief is further supported by the fact that they are playing less Revelation songs in their sets as of late.

And about the diction issues, frankly when the band is playing live it's hardly an issue, since the fans are all making noise. He's much better this year, IMO.

Understand, that's about what I thought Steverino...a few leather-lunged dopes but to hear Portland put it, people have been saying that the the entire 10K + per night is stampeeding to the spot-a-pots at the first sign of a non DD.
And the last setlist I looked at still had 4 Revelation songs in it, pretty solid over a year out. Raised On Radio they were playing GCHI, BGTY, IBAWY and Suzanne or the title track rotating.
