Actually Perry personally picked Augeri out of let's say a few singers or so to take over "his" spot in the band. He had the final say! But you all know that already.

WHOA... I for one have never heard that before. Is that documented somewhere?
I know Rolie pretty much hand-picked Cain but I never heard this story.

There is just no way that happened. I think it's Rolie recommending Cain that you are thinking of.

Yikes, first most of you please learn how to use the quote button properly, thank you in advance, if you don't know how to quote someone specifically, then please ask.

Second, it seems like 80% of you on here don't get it that the band that tours named Journey is a BUSINESS.

I take it some of you work at a job. But then again, most of you are posting all day and night - LOL

At most businesses they need to keep the business running and that's why employees are hired. If an employee fails to do their job or can't come through, what's the boss suppose to do?? Just end the business just like that? But the business must go on!

Journey is a business, one of their employees, yes he was a hired hand, got sick, is taking a medical leave for the time being. While he is gone the job needs to be filled so that the business can continue. So they hired a replacement. If Steve can't come back from his medical leave, then the job needs to be filled permanently so the business can still run.

I hope everyone now understands that Journey is a Business. I don't think they really care about the "little" people, just like most companies out there, which is very unfortunate.

Well, Perry states in this interview that he never met Augeri until the WOF and that he has never seen "New Journey" perform. I think it would be hard to hand pick someone he had never met or seen perform with the band.

http://www.fanasylum.com/steveperry/pag ... 0203.shtml

Steve Augeri has stated several times that you were his inspiration. In fact, he dedicated Journey's EP Red13 to you. What are your thoughts on Steve Augeri? Have you two spoken? And lastly, have you seen him perform with Journey lately and what were your thoughts about the band's performance?

SP: I only met him once and that was at the Hollywood WOF presentation. I've never seen the New Journey perform. With all due respect, my memories of Journey and its music are locked in our time together. I think I'll stay with that.

No, Neal and Deen were in NY working on 8 different side-projects and guesting on 18 other projects and decided they needed some new duds (You know Neal, always trying to look cool). So there in the Mall and they walk by this GAP store that was under-construction and heard some dude singing behind the tarps... And the rest is history :)

I seem to remember Cain saying on the BTM that his wife dug out an old Tall Stories CD at home. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Well, I seem to remember a story somewhere where Neal cut a fart on the bus late one night and the driver had to pull over on the side of the highway so everybody could get some fresh air, fast. Seems Neal just had to have some authentic mexican food earlier that night..

Were you stoned on the Boardwalk in Jersey, and paid that old wrinkly fucker in the cage 10 cents for a fortune and he told you this?

To write what you wrote should get you vacation time. Come on Laurie, you are smarter than that.

Complete BS as far as everything I know about this band. Perry was removed as was his right to voice an opinion...he merely takes a % cut and has no say in what the band di then or does now - unless it concerns the music recorded during his tenure.
