No one who bought ROR, TBF, GH CD and GH DVD are interested in looking for today's Journey material, or they would have found it and bought it!! They are still finding and buying the GH CD and last year's release of the GH DVD. So...they are still looking for, and finding any CLASSIC Journey material. They have no interest in anything NEW by this line-up.

Better do some more research on the outcome of that, Monker. Arrival songs all written by Journey? They may have been recorded by them, but along with the issue of Johnny G., Cain was SENT to Nashville to work with outside writers, as well, which is not not that big of a deal IF it was only a song or two to finally get the thing recorded. If you are from the school of thought that Cain & Schon are the creative genius, then think again. They had outside help on 11 out of 15 songs! If they can't do it on their own, but can do just as well with outside writers, then why didn't Arrival sell at least as well as TBF, or ROR, if the latter two were such inferior endeavors? I'm sure you will come up with all the usual excuses. If you are impressed and happy with 14, 15 (who cares when it is that low) songs recorded, but not written mostly by them, and only ONE full CD in all these years, then I can see why you might be satisfied with just Arrival. You don't expect alot and you don't get alot. Some people have higher standards when they think of Journey's music. Let me assure you of this, with no doubt whatsoever...If you don't like ROR or TBF, you are a MINORITY in the vast Journey fanbase, nomatter how much you scream otherwise. I'm not just talking about all of us/any of us on the internet or in one fan club that was spawned for the current line-up. I'm refering to those out in rock & roll USA (and overseas)who bought ROR, TBF, and are STILL BUYING their GH CD and pushed a classic Journey DVD to major sales, considering it is ALL OLD material with the former line-up. If those same people thought the new line-up and the material was so great, why isn't it selling right now like the GH CD or the GH DVD? No promotion! ??? Well, gee, they had the very same record label when Arrival was released, too. Why would Sony have so little faith in what they heard or saw? No one who bought ROR, TBF, GH CD and GH DVD are interested in looking for today's Journey material, or they would have found it and bought it!! They are still finding and buying the GH CD and last year's release of the GH DVD. So...they are still looking for, and finding any CLASSIC Journey material. I just wanted to pop in and give you a reality check.
Read it and weep: To the general Journey music-buying population, it isn't the same and definitely isn't better. Perhaps Neal's sincere invitation (and I believe he meant it) will increase ticket sales for them this summer, unless the upcoming Q&A puts a quick end to that possibility. I know that seeing Journey year after year as a GH's Band is a tough pill to swallow, as their fans have been screaming for new music, with which they have intensely struggled. Maybe Perry will stop in and pump up their tour, and by default, have enabled them to "give out" more of the upcoming CD's, since they come with the ticket. That's the cold, hard reality of being in a band calling itself Journey without ALL its creative genius intact, along with the clout that comes along with it.
Welcome to the no-spin zone.
His presence at the WOF brought the house down....
Felt good to us, must have felt good to him
And it was a surprise to all, so I am not putting my money on ANYTHING

They are now entering the studio in March as opposed to what was initially announced as February.
Other than that, things still seem on track.

The Fab Five were the Beatles. The Super Five for me is Classic Journey.
I hear ROR songs on the radio all the time. It's all about the music matey.

Before the mid 80's hit, which would be before ROR was made, there were constant promises in the fan newsletter about an album coming out, being worked on, for months. There were all these stories about the band happily recording and having fun, etc.
There was no such thing happening, because ROR finally came out in 1986, and was without Smitty and Ross, because the Portuguese god had fired them. Lies were being published in the newsletter, to cover the dissension that was apparently being caused by Perry.
The Fab Five of the new Millenium are gearing up for what promises to be a new era for Journey. They're working together, writing, and getting ready to record and tour. The lead singer has no plans to jump ship. It's the chemistry I suppose.
