Nope.
I'd take a full album of 'Back Talks' before I subject myself to another listen of 'Believe'.
It's a keyboard-solo masquerading itself as a Journey song.
It may not be spectacular, but at least I can get into 'BackTalk'.

Say what you will.
While 'BackTalk' may be a little offbeat, I contend that it has all the earmarks of a classic Perry/Cain writing team up.

This is so funny...I am one of those people who actually sorta like Back Talk. I like it mostly because it is a drum solo masquerading as a song! ;) Seriously, I like Smitty getting up front for a change...and he was given a writing credit on this one. Furthermore, I have a kid that would really remind me of this song for a couple years. He is a better kid now, but there was a time...

I think Frontiers ranks due to years of familiarity while Generations ranks because it is new Journey material.

Maybe it should be: Frontiers is #1 of the Perry -era and Generations is the #1 of the Augeri-era?

By the way, and I mean this, tonight, my son makes his debut here in MR.com

His name is Bruce. Yes, he was born 3 hours after seeing Springsteen, so what the Hell?

I am going to clean it up a little, and I ask you to judge him on his own merit.

He will slap me back so dont laugh too much.

His name is Rock'nbruce....

I want him to make up his own mind about people here, but also want to steer him away from Perry boards, so he won't be feminized too much.

He knows about TNC, 13 and NIGGSTER.

Actually he likes how TNC IM's me..the quirks he uses..

I won't allow him to. Hell no.

He thinks Mr Roboto is the gayest song he has ever heard..

like the first time he kicked a soccer ball....I took that thing away so fast and said, no! Not good! Thank God he plays football, baseball and hockey.

He is right.

My kid is just now starting to like music. He is 13. Try as I might, he likes nothing by Journey. He likes VH (with Roth - hates Sammy) and The Darkness. He made me proud the other day when I had on a station playing some grungy sounding new band, and he said "All of these groups sound the same. I hate all of them."

It most definitely is, I think its one of the highlights of that album and one of my all time favorites from Journey.

No. That trifecta DID equal magic to be sure. Kind of hard for it to still create magic anylonger as an exacta.

I agree though, perhaps the best writing threesome in history.

Like TNC says, when you pair these three up, they are awesome.

This is hard, I like Escape, Frontiers and Raised on Radio quite equally but I chose Escape this time because it´s just wrong that Generations is ahead of Escape. I´m not saying that Generations would be bad, it has it´s moments but it certainly belongs behind Escape.

Well, honestly - all Journey albums belong behind Escape (Open Arms, Don't Stop Beleivin', Stone In Love, Who's Cryin' Now, Mother Father, and so on. I picked Raised On Radio only because I like that style, but I am sure Frontiers and Escape are two of Journey's best albums made. At that time, that was the height of their career.

Schon, Valory, Cain, Smith, Perry.
