Goodness, I should be out enjoying myself in lovely Edinburgh on a Saturday night, not trying to track down Nigel/Nile/Nige Griffith!!!! Did I hear that Journey were coming to the UK?

Sorry jazzlover1 but I have never heard of Steve Smith EVER missing a Journey gig during his tenure. And if a session musian is used on the resording than he (as far as I know) must be creditted. The only scenario I can see as a possibility would be that during the writing/rehearsing of an album before recording, maybe Smitty was not available so they used a session musician until Smitty was available to record. But until ROR I know of no session musicians involved with Joureny.

I see you have posted on Back Talk and you are also looking to see if he worked with ToTo. Have you simply tried looking for a bio on the guy you are looking for? It would be more likely that he would name the bands he has worked with...

Hiya - have tried to track him down in all sorts of ways. I heard that he had also played with Toto - hence the posting on BackTalk. I just can't seem to find him or anything on him. So you say that Steve Smith never missed a tour (and how long was he with the band for by the way)!? If he didn't (miss a tour/ gig etc), then I must have been mistaken about Nigel. However, I am going to carry on trying, as it's very important for me to find out the truth. Thanks so much for your help (again!) And if you think of any other ways or sites that I can search, I would be relaly pleased to hear about them. Best wishes. Jan

Thanks for that. It could well be after Steve Smith left the first time then - but I still don't seem to be able to find out if and when he played with them. It's doing my skull in! But to both Lori and Jrneyman - a big thank you! Jan
