Let Boss sleep on it.

However, IF I can resist responding to that "persons" remarks, then certainly so can everyone else.

There is no need for me to really have to "go off" on him. What's the point? And, if I can resist the temptation to annihilate Reardon, I can certainly treat the "girls" nicer; or even this, Andrew.

I will personally offer up my once and for all departure of the Board, if you think it's necessary; and no hard feelings will come of it. I think Andrew is a stand up guy in all capacities. Or, I could reincarnate, "Nicedeano" complete with tuberoses and prairie fields of joy. Whater works, works for me.

I'd rather he kept it closed. What it became the last month or so was sad at best.

Absolutely, Amaron. Absent MAJOR not to mention difficult to implement changes, it would disintegrate into anarchy again.

The one thing I always wanted to suggest was adding the phpBB ignore list function to the boards but I didn't want to step on Andrew's toes. It is his site and boards and he runs them as he chooses.

This board is all yours. Too many bigots and mean spirited people who feel justified in personally attacking people of size, color, nationality and sexual preference, not to mention how "ugly" they see them.

I know, every time a new poster comes here with an opinion you don't agree with, you'll say, HOTS is back. Wrong! I've only been Att and HOTS.

Thanks Joe, for being the only one to speak up for the Perry girls.

I'm not going to apologize to any of the goons here for any of my defense tactics. They could dish it out, but they couldn't take it, and that refers to you Yak, you little weenie.

You should never have hired that junkyard dog, Andrew! Thanks for letting me quit on my own, instead of booting me out long ago. Don't let some of these inmates run the asylum.

So says the hypocrite who has been chasing NIG on these forums all week accusing him of being homosexual.

Yet, you repeatedly denied being ATT until today.
If I'm not mistaken (and I'm not) you steadfastly claimed that ATT was your "sister".
Why shouldn't people accuse you of being more than one person at every turn, when you yourself just conceeded that they were right all along?

I've been part of the Journey internet for numerous years now.
It's been my experience that the Journey fans never hit and run.
Only the Perryloons do.

My sincere take on this mess-

I think Andrew should only open this forum up when there is news on the homepage related to Journey. He should link any topical Journey-related front page news to this forum so visitors of the site can come here and discuss the latest happenings in the world of Journey.
Otherwise, I feel Andrew should keep the place closed during the year.

That's a canard.
The indecorous behavior of respective individuals on this forum reflects badly solely upon THEM - the individual author.
Anyone who tries to tell u otherwise is clearly insanse and you should heed them no mind.
Listen, when Froy goes on an anti-Gowan tirade over on the Styx board who does that reflect badly on? - U, Andrew McNeice of MR.com, or Froy? The answer is Froy, of course.
The same logic applies over here.

Andrew, my sincere thanks for keeping it together as long as you did. I appreciate you trying so hard in the face of so many obstacles. Thank you...

And how is that :? :?: . Perry's peeps have told Andrew a big part of his refusal to grant him an interview is because of these forums. To people who don't get the ins and outs of how this place works (IE: probably thinking there are Mods reporting to andrew), there can be the perception that he allows "abuse (still the biggest joke running for me)" and tolerates Perry bashing when in reality he likely hasn't the time to do the babysitting required to keep the perceptions positive. We're on the honors system and it's been abused.

Andrew,

I really do hope you re-open this board. It's really the only place of significance where you can voice the truth on Journey's situation right now. We all know you can't do that over at BT.

I'm guilty of a little horsing around on here as well and you do have my word that it will not happen again if you decide to open the board up.

You're misinformed.
Andrew was notified of this early on in the existence of the current lineup. I doubt this forum even existed yet, and if it did, I am sure it had yet to transmogrify into the hotbed of vitriolic divisiveness that exists today. The forums had nothing to do with Perry's refusal, it had everything to do with Drew being decidedly pro-current lineup.

Red13JoePa wrote:To people who don't get the ins and outs of how this place works...

That's their problem...shouldn't be Andrew's concern. Anyone who is rational and sane knows that everyone here posts of their own free will and that is not in any way reflective of Andrew or his opinions.
Maybe like on certain movies Andrew needs to place a heading at the top of this forum that reads in big bold lettering....

"All opinions expressed within do not reflect the opinions of Andrew McNeice, MR.com or their parent company or affiliates etc etc.... "

Don't be so fast to condone the actions of blatant disregard
& from what I see the onlly thing on his agenda is himself.
Don't get drawn in by this attempt at defense...

I too made it a point to defend everyone & did it without the use of the same blatant disregard that has lead to the closing of this forum.

Some of the posts were indeed very humerous.
Have you ever watched Saturday Night Live????

It's meant to entertain and to bring awareness...
some will find it in bad taste but it's true
part of the positve points of this forum was being able to speak your mind.
that however is not the same thing as the blatant disregard for humanity
and agressive personal attacks that some have shown to others.

I thought we were all adults and could make the descision where to draw the line of common decency & respect.

I think some people just join a forum to make trouble.
To see how far they can go to tear it down.

I just don't like to see someone condoned that seems to be happy that this forum was closed & has made his final contribution to sealing it's fate....

Andrew,

Although I have only posted a few times, I have been lurking for years. This is by far the best Journey forum. I miss my Journey "fix" already. Please, please, please reopen it. If that's not possible, and the forum is really done, I thank you for the time we had it.

Last post from me on this...It's so clear, so obvious, that one faction is delighted that the Board is closed. Go back and read. They have succeeded in their quest.

shadowsong wrote:I just don't like to see someone condoned that seems to be happy that this forum was closed & has made his final contribution to sealing it's fate....

Precisely. Andrew, say it ain't so. To do this would be to give in, and to throw up a white flag.

I say bring it back, and the true assholes who re-appear, meet their lifesized can of Raid.

This is funny to read of the one side, who complains of numerous items. It is clear this board, whether it be here on the Melodic Rock site, or the entire net, is absolutely the most passionate. You can say the Styx board is a "perfect example" and it may well be. But let's face it, there ain't a whole lot goin on over there. Who wants to compare 20 yr old albums with 22 yr old albums. Here we try to talk cutting edge, and then turn right and proceed into the jungle. However, to kill the Journey board, IMO, would be taking the heart out of MelodicRock. No other band on here has fans that care like we do, and frankly, no other bands on here are worth a shit to get all passionate and heated about. Hell, THIS band is nearing that point, but still are making decent sized news and playing to large crowds. Not one other band on this site(except BJ), can say that. The topic gets heated, and sometimes over-heated. The complaints in my mind, come from people who are simply losing their fight to post the agenda. If the content were too extreme here, then they could go over to BT..however, their agenda wouldn't be allowed. They could go to one of the 10 Perry sites, but that is no fun, because there is no one to disagree with. So they settle here, where free speech is allowed. They start to lose their controlled grip, and their agenda loses its' way, and the complaints come out. It's pretty easy to see. The fight here is sometimes colourful to say the least, however, when things don't go their way, they simply pull out the victim card.

I say no way close this down. That would be giving in against the "Agenda."

Andrew,

I love this site and I appreciate all your efforts in running this baby...I think I have been here from day 1....lurking for the most part and only started to post late last year.

This is your site, so do what you think is right, mate....just think about this : This is a great forum for a band that makes great music. Let's not reject the whole lot of apples just cuz o'some bad ones ( I think everyone here knows who they are ! )

But if you decide to re-open this forum, you MUST ban one person ( and YOU kow who that is )

My two nuts...

Cheers

My ears were ringing over here with Styx being mentioned - LOL I don't want to fight, but here are a few of my responses to you.

Deano wrote:

I think overall most of the posters on the Styx forum are pretty much passionate about the band Styx no matter what the line up is or was.

But let's face it, there ain't a whole lot goin on over there. Who wants to compare 20 yr old albums with 22 yr old albums.

That's really funny!!! And how old is the Journey's Escape or the Frontiers albums?? I remember those being discussed on here as well as former line ups and tours from like the 80's - LOL Um, we do talk about the recent concerts, tours, events and line ups too, it's just not all old school talk. But I do enjoy re-living my youth with the music that I grew up with and continue to listen too. I listen to a lot of "old school" Journey music all the time too.

Here we try to talk cutting edge, and then turn right and proceed into the jungle.

Okay

It's really too bad that this forum did close down. I love the music of Journey past and present. There was no need for most or all of the fights and name calling that went on in here. Some of the name calling was just terrible!! That's what wrecked it. Almost every Journey thread started out with a great topic and then went sour. That's so sad.

I find it funny Classicstyxfan can say for all of us to stay the Hell out of your forum, and you all defend him, yet, when I mentioned your band, you ran in here like your house was on fire.

Suite, I am not about to do battle with you..Been there done that....but I was making a realistic point. There is NOTHING going on with Styx and you know it. At least Journey is embarking on a tour that is a bit bigger than Kmart parking lot in LaCrosse, WI.

Without us Journey people, Andrew would have little or no traffic on his boards, as we venture out to Styx, Survivor and other boards.

MMMMmmmm I'm not misinformed. Do you remember within the past year, he also mentioned that the tone of the Journey forum (read , his refusal to censor anhything but complete filfth) has also kept him on the outside of the Perry interview?
Regarding your second point, it IS their problem but I take Andrew at face value when he says it's HIS problem also since it's his site and posts that get through are surmised to be approved by him. Your last point, seemingly made partially in jest, may not be a bad idea.
He has a semi-serious disclaimer atop the noticeboard but it is noticeably absent here. I would assume he's got his reasons.

Well it's not "my/our" forum (LOL), it's Andrew's forum. Who want's all that crazy fighting and name calling on other boards. That's what no one wants on there, not "you Journey people". We have a lot of Off Topics on the board, I'm sure most of the usual posters on there don't want it to turn into the nasty name calling and what happened on here. I always read this forum as well as the other forums on here, so I didn't have to run too far - LOL

I don't want to do battle either. There's a lot going on with Styx and Dennis and Tommy and Glen and Todd and the other guys and you know it!! Hmmm, the Kmart parking lot? Okie Dokie.

Without us Journey people, Andrew would have little or no traffic on his boards, as we venture out to Styx, Survivor and other boards.

The Journey forum had a ton of posts, BUT if you look back, a lot of them didn't have to do with the music, a lot of fighting and arguing.

I agree that this Journey board has been the heart and soul of the site... at least for me. I actually used to look forward to read it!

I can also understand why A doesnt want it to reflect on him. He's gotta stay friends with these rock star folks for his bread/butter!

Why doesnt someone here start another Journey board somewhere? Clearly, we need somewhere to go. Deano, maybe you can start one!

We can all go there, and... LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

If it is to go ahead, there must be some lurkers paticipating and there must be true tolerance shown to all.

Someone had the idea earlier in this thread (was it Deano?) about creating one unmodreated forum where people can take their "battles". That way, if things heat up too much in here, they can move it over where only people who want to see it will read it. Is that possible?
