Come on, Deano. Admit it. You just like him because of that song Reno on Devils and Dust.

Check the lyrics, people, if you don't know what I'm talking about.
"I love almost everybody."---Rocky Balboa 1990
"Let's reform this thing.Let's go out and get some guys who want to work and go do it"--Neal Schon February, 2001
"I looked at Neal, and I just saw a guy who really wants his band back"-JCain 2/01

Reno:

(Pretty graphic, yet always true with Bruce)Don't read this red state BT'ers. You will faint and die.

She took off her stockings, I held them to my face.
She had your ankles, I felt filled with grace.
"Two hundred dollars straight in,
Two-fifty up the ass," she smiled and said.
She unbuckled my belt, pulled back her hair,
And sat in front of me on the bed.
She said, "Honey how's that feel, do you want me to go slow?"
My eyes drifted out the window, down to the road below.

I felt my stomach tighten. The sun bloodied the sky
And sliced through the hotel blinds. I closed my eyes.
Sunlight on the Amatitlan, sunlight streaming thru your hair.
In the Valle de dos Rios, smell of mock orange filled the air.
We rode with the vaqueros, down into cool rivers of green.
I was sure the work and that smile coming out 'neath your hat
Was all I'd ever need.
Somehow all you ever need's, never really quite enough you know.
You and I, Maria, we learned it's so.

She slipped me out of her mouth, "You're ready," she said.
She took off her bra and panties, wet her finger, slipped it inside her,
And crawled over me on the bed.
She poured me another whisky,
Said, "Here's to the best you ever had."
We laughed and made a toast.
It wasn't the best I ever had,
Not even close.

Devils and Dust:

I got my finger on the trigger
But I don't know who to trust
When I look into your eyes
There's just devils and dust
We're a long, long way from home, Bobbie
Home's a long, long way from us
I feel a dirty wind blowing
Devils and dust

I got God on my side
I'm just trying to survive
What if what you do to survive
Kills the things you love
Fear's a powerful thing
It can turn your heart black you can trust
It'll take your God filled soul
And fill it with devils and dust

Well I dreamed of you last night
In a field of blood and stone
The blood began to dry
The smell began to rise
Well I dreamed of you last night
In a field of mud and bone
Your blood began to dry
The smell began to rise

We've got God on our side
We're just trying to survive
What if what you do to survive
Kills the things you love
Fear's a powerful thing
It'll turn your heart black you can trust
It'll take your God filled soul
Fill it with devils and dust

Now every woman and every man
They want to take a righteous stand
Find the love that God wills
And the faith that He commands
I've got my finger on the trigger
And tonight faith just ain't enough
When I look inside my heart
There's just devils and dust

Well I've got God on my side
And I'm just trying to survive
What if what you do to survive
Kills the things you love
Fear's a dangerous thing
It can turn your heart black you can trust
It'll take your God filled soul
Fill it with devils and dust

It'll take your God filled soul

Fill it with devils and dust

Come on. There are bands I hate and sports guys I hate, but I respect them nonetheless.

If you don't respect him, I don't know what to say.

Scorpions! Scorpions rule. Deano are you seriously suggesting Klaus Meine can't sing? There's a difference between not liking a voice and someone who can't sing. Meine is operatically trained...dude's got a masterful voice. I can see where it'd be an acquired taste but saying he can't sing is ludicrous.

My top 25 (at the moment...this changes daily - no live or comp albums)

1. Def Leppard - High n Dry
2. Journey - Infinity
3. Scorpions - Lovedrive
4. Kiss - Love Gun
5. Scorpions - Unbreakable
6. Journey - Arrival
7. Ten - Babylon
8. Def Leppard - Pyromania
9. Styx - Cyclorama
10. Journey - Escape
11. Judas Priest - Point of Entry
12. Boston - Third Stage
13. Scorpions - Love at First Sting
14. AC/DC - Highway to Hell
15. Styx - Paradise Theatre
16. Dream Theater - Images & Words
17. Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny
18. Kiss - Asylum
19. Journey - Frontiers
20. Def Leppard - Hysteria
21. Boston
22. Van Halen - OU812
23. Extreme - III Sides to Every Story
24. Styx - Kilroy Was Here
25. Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance

I didn't say I didn't respect him, he's made his mark in the music world. I just said I didn't like his music...BIG difference!

Hey...they never stopped being great really. Couple lackluster albums in the 90's, Eye II Eye was ill-advised, but Unbreakable, the new one, is one of their best albums ever. Dead serious, and I'm on a major Scorps kick right now.

Hey,Bruce Springsteen was one of my 80s heroes! He still is very special in his own way...I really did get his message later, when I heard him singing unplugged on MTV...Very touching.
He is a simple, humble, sincere artist and that`s more valuable than anything these days.

Omg.Scorpions.I saw them once in concert and I have to say they sucked big time.Sorry.

He plays them both the same...acoustic rhythm guitar. Almost anyone can do that.

Jon Cain picked up the harmonica in a couple weeks. It can't be that hard. And how often does a harmonica actually sound good??

He is kind of like Perry on TBF...he emotes songs well. But I would say he can sing well.

He has diversity. he likes to experience different types of genres. No other artist can do what he is doing.

Actually there many that do. But really, doesn't Sprinsteen just go back and forth between a grass-roots rock album and a singer/songwriter acoustic album.

I saw them for the Eye II Eye Tour and they really bored me. But I think their albums of the 70's are stellar and they had a good run of popularity in the 80's as well!

I only like a couple songs by him. He has just never done anything for me. Espeically this new crap he has out. Devils and Dust was horrible and now covering a FOLK singer?! WTF...Max, get back here and talk some sense into him!

You are kidding me right.... Springsteen isn't just covering any folk singer, he's covering Pete Seeger for crying out loud! The man is a living national treasure who has written some of the most well known American folk songs! The man is an absolute genius and has steadfastly held to his values and beliefs in wanting to make the world a better place to live.

I would. Extremely solid musically...the current lineup is excellent. Nice mix of the traditional sound with some newer groundbreaking stuff for them.

Through My Eyes is one of the best songs they've ever recorded, lyrically, musically, in every way. Ditto Maybe I, Maybe You.

I agree with that.More, I think Springsteen is fit to cover Seeger. Bruce has enough artistical sense to keep the traditional touch and add some new emotion at the same time.I have listened to one song of it,"Old Dan Tucker",and it`s very good.
I guess it was time someone tried to do something different. It happenes to be Springsteen.

Uh, alrightly then, whatever. I know who Pete Seeger is and truthfully, I'm just as impressed with him as I am with Springsteen, or Skynyrd, or Joplin.....Maybe he should give Joan Baez a try for his next album. ;)

But I'm glad you like him...SOMEONE has to, I guess! :P

It's a band. Formed on the South side of Chicago. Originally known as TW4, later named for the River to Hades. They have a couple good tunes, the kids seem to like them. Good beat and you can dance to it. I give 'em a 9, Dick.
