Journey and Leppard lipping?

I agree. That was what drove me to Perry. he is the best singer ever, but his voice is so unique. Very hard to emulate. Jeremy of Frontiers and Hugo are close.

I think that we each hear sounds differently and that small difference determines what music we enjoy.

It's hard to explain what certain voices do for me emotionally unless I'm talking to people who feel the same emotion from that same voice.

Just as you are drawn to Perry, I'm drawn to Elliott. It's nice that we each have found a sound that pleases us.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought this whole issue was initially brought up by the gentleman in Sweden who sometimes works sound.

To be fair to Svante, he didn't start this. If anyone is going to get sued or accused or whatever, it is me. I am not being self centered...just want to be responsible.

I've seen nothing in the way of proof so far to back up any accusations that have been made against DL having the same practice or confirmation from Svante Pettersson that they did at the same Sweden show as journey. Now as I've stated before since they are touring together and DL has been brought up too many times and places to mention in this controversy feel free to prove they do it too. I won't stand up on behalf of Joe Elliott with evidence staring me in the face and call others liars and choose to ignore it but that's just me. So far I've seen nothing on them but I realized they too would be looked at and did try and find out first before I opened my mouth in their defense. I fully expect them to be next and it is the same with Journey on them not me.

I took this story to the DL board several times, my last thread wasn't locked or deleted but in response to my e-mail I was told neither Def Leppard or Journey use tapes and the blogger (Dean) was a troublemaker and not to believe everything I read on the internet. This was a week or so ago, the calm before the storm so to speak. I was persistent so they can't not know about all of this by now and clearly is a concern because of the SOLD tickets for this tour. DL has a small fortune invested in.

Ladyslang, if you want anything let me know I am catwoman and I'll pass it on, it's too extensive to keep posting and not everyone wants the info. My stand is still that DL doesn't lipsync although I am aware of the tapes they use at shows which are considered enhancement and various things of that nature but not outright lipsyncing the main vocals.

Deano, I'm one of the few it seems that hasn't called you a liar and host of other nasties because I took the time to listen and check out your story and my attitude about Def Leppard would be no different if you had more than an accusation. Do you? I have asked you this on your blog as well as here and in an e-mail and have still gotten nothing and here you are talking about it again like you know. I've already stated that I expect DL's shows to be recorded and the comparison made and if they are there's no way it won't be found out as well. As a fan how do I feel about that? I'll never go to another show and lose all and any respect for them if such a thing were the case. If they aren't guilty of such a thing it hardly seems fair to trash their name and ruin their carreer on suspicion and association alone.

Right, but it should not be. Did you read Liz's post after mine? If you point the finger at one, you've gotta include them all. And since Dean is running this circus and claims that DL has been doing this for years, he should attack the industry instead of lamenting the "integrity" of Journey alone.

I absolutely agree that it's not right to point the finger at one and not the rest. I fully support that and at this time Journey is the main one in the spotlight and that was Deen's doing. There will be fallout from all of this for many or so I hope. It's opened my eyes and I won't change my mind about it being ok to be decieved this way and go merrily rolling along. I can't speak for anyone else.

So, you expect Journey to address some allegations you throw at them, but you don't have the capability to do the same.

You say nothing about the drugs (non-prescription & prescription included), your only response is to lash out with white trash insults.

The only thing I understand from your post is:

With this rumour of Journey miming /lipping doing the rounds i wondered what Def Lepprd thought of this,as this is not good publicity for the co-headling tour?
There has been mention that a few other bands mimed/lipped at Sweden rock,i was told by the same guy who told me about Journey that Leppard were doing the same!!!!
Is this why they are able to tour together with no one worrying about the use of tapes?
I do accept that this may all be rubbish and hope it is belive me,but it shows classic rock bands of old in a poor light.A lot of the new up and coming bands will look at theses guys as past it and lose respect for them.Lets hope Journey can put our minds at rest this week with some form of statement to explain and end this nightmare.

Well spoke to friend who saw there Hammersmith London show he saId they do not lip,as Joes voice was not to good. Having seen them a few times i can tell its live so pleased to hear that i was losing faith live shows.

And when someone makes allegations regarding him, such as proof that he has a psychiatric illness AND abuses/uses narcotic prescriptions drugs, among other things............he is quiet. Unless it isn't really true, then he would feel like Journey.
