That is my fave Live version of "Patiently"...heavenly. Definitely a jewel forever locked into that time - thank god somebody captured it then...now I just want SP to put it on a CD so I can have it! That song will never be sung like that again by anyone...

And, "Little Girl" - first time I've heard that one - I love "Dream after Dream"! Did they play anything else LIVE from that album???

thanks, Sallee!

Yeah, that was my reaction when Sallee was kind enough to send it to me a while back. I believe that is the only live recording of that tune in existence, isn't it?

Salle,

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU FOR LITTLE GIRL.

Been wanting that.

Do you have the Shibuya 79 boot?
I think he even goes higher on that version of Patiently and holds the last note super long and goes straight into Opened the Door. I cry every time I hear that.

Me too, Nora! I shouldn't have listened to it at work. Running mascara is never a pretty sight, especially in an office!

By the way, I absolutely LOVE your new picture. That is stunning!

Take care,

................................

Amen to that! Thank you!

No wonder Perry is so irreplaceable to many of us. I think it's a sacrilege for ANYONE to sing any of the songs that his vocals made hits. jmho

Make that three...I'm sure that Augeri enjoyed his life just fine while he was working there. I'm sure most of the people on this forum aren't exactly living a "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous" existence.

:x I agree, that snide remark about Augeri was uncalled for!

Getting back on topic...are you sure this song was from 1981? I thought Patiently was dropped from the setlist during the Escape tour or did Osaka, Japan get a rare treat that night? Can't really tell if it's Rolie's or Cain's keyboards in the background...IT does sound different from the Houston 1980 Departure boot I have though..which is phenomenal in itself!
I saw the Escape tour 3 times and never heard Patiently or most of the Infinity stuff except for Lights and Wheel, of course.

I think it is Jon Cain on keyboards. When I got these four songs, I looked at them in my files, and it says Osaka, Japan 1981. Now I know they didn't play that song here, but since Dream After Dream was for a movie in Japan, maybe they just decided to play it that one night there. The date is 7-27-1981. I wish I could find the whole boot of this. :D

Speaking of Dream After Dream....does anyone know if they've ever played any of those songs LIVE in Japan? Maybe Little Girl Or Destiny? Patiently wasn't on the Dream After Dream soundtrack, so I wouldn't think that would be the reason they played it in Osaka that night...probably a request I would guess.
