Stephen King used to be one of my obsessions! I used to read every one of his books, my favorites were probably 'Salems Lot, The Stand, and The Talisman (with Peter Straub). Recently finished Cell, and to be honest was once again disappointed. Nothing King has done since Bag of Bones has really caught my attention. He normally starts with a real promising first half or so, then he loses me. He's been on this miniseries kick for about 10 years now, and can't say I've been impressed with any of those. I'll have to check out the Nightmares & Dreamscapes tho - I wasn't aware that was on TV...

I became a big fan of Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, the guys who wrote "The Relic," which was turned into the Penelope Ann Miller/Tom Wifebeater film. If you like Stephen King, you must check out either The Ice Limit or Thunderhead by Preston & Child.

Bag of Bones is my favorite book outside the Dark Tower series.
