That was painful. Sounds like a chronic throat infection to me! Lets face it JSS(and as I said before I am a fan) does not have the range to sing this material period. If they wanted to finish the tour and thats understandable just get someone that can do the material justice.

Wow! Just as I recalled, that Be Good slice was painful and brought back the same cringing I had at the show! Eoooooouch! This guy should quit now for the sake of his voice. If 3-4 shows have shredded it like this man he won't have anything left soon! I hope now those of you who cast the review as just another Perry Kool Aid drinker have a little bit more of an understanding and the belief that this was sadly enough the quality of the vocals through the show. Maybe not as shredded in the voice but struggling, offkey and out of range! The music does sound great though!

Again, I give him credit for even trying to fill in but maybe they should scour the country quickly for more coverbands to have a backup to this poor soul! He will be hoarse at this rate in 2 more shows!

Wow! If someone other than "Journey" had performed this, I'd say the singer should be drug out into the street and horsewhipped! At least the guy was pressed into action and maybe just helping Schon out....But man that was painful! I almost had to stop it in the middle but made myself listen to it all.

Before any of you break out the tar and feather machines, let me say I am a big JSS fan and I feel slightly disrespectful even talking negatively about him HOWEVER I won't sugar coat the obvious: The Journey catalog is not in Jeff's vocal range. Period.

I don't mean to sound like a dooms-dayer but the end is likely near for this band. As I said in a earlier post, they get another Perry sound alike and they'll be AGAIN branded a karoake act. They get someone completely different like Jeff that can't cover their catalog and ticket sales will plummet. Let me remind everyone ticket sales are the only revenue keeping the Journey machine afloat.

If they proceed in a "different sound" direction, they need someone who can respectfully make the songs their own, even if they aren't in the same key as Perry. That's a fucking colossal task.

I would bet even as being branded a Karaoke act with agreat voice they would still make bank! I would go see them again, but as it stands, that was probably my last Journey show in Bristow. I am very sad about that because this is another great band from my era that will be lost in the memories and I hate to remember that I am getting old! I hear these songs and I feel young again and I love the Live experience. Sad!

I got my Charlotte boot from Guitars101, already converted to wma or mp3, I can't remember which. And you don't have to be a member to download from there either ! :D
