Steve A. said those songs were written for a solo album and you know what?
They sound like solo-stuff.
They were probably put on "Generations" because the best Journey material had already been given away to Jack Blades, Mickey Thomas, and Soul Sirkus.

That "song" just goes nowhere. It sounds like an unfinished idea.

Yep, especially love the arbitrary jingle bells or wind chimes that are thrown in at the end.
Too bad, with Cain's help it probably could've become a decent tune.

let´s see, it was composed on a Mac with a $29 or even free version of Garageband from Apple. If the guy would have brought it to Journey and said, help me out, it would have been SO much better. I agree that it´s very repetitive.

I´ve heard better songs at The Gap.

For a Journey song, the standard is not there. Take it off a future Generations album sure, if it were possible. I can't really understand this song, it just sux to be flat out honest.

2/10 a because its Journey, otherwise this song gets a 0

Well, like I've said before, a song doesn't have to adhere to a set-pattern in order to be good.
However, "Believe's" deviations from convention don't render it any more progressive or revolutionary -simply meandering and repetetive.

For example, "Faith in the Heartland", "State of Grace" and "The Time" all broke away from the confines of radio play by having extended running times and for the most part, the risk paid off. The songs rock.

Yeah, I hear yah.
After "Tall Stories" and "Shine" I truly expected lyrical gold from Augeri and all I was handed repeatedly were clumps of turd.

Yep, for sure. "Faith In The Heartland" is a catchy tune, is a fine example of modern Journey. Did Steve Augeri write "Believe", im not too sure.

Well! if it were my choice I would of made Generations the following. Throw in a special bonus track, although "Remember Me" was distributed by Sony I think.

Faith In The Heartland
Place In Your Heart, The
Better Life, A
Every Generation
State Of Grace
Walking Away From The Edge
Knowing That You Love Me
Out Of Harms Way
In Self Defense
Better Together
The Time
Beyond The Clouds
Never Too Late
Remember Me (Bonus Track)

What did you post? Remember knox thought he was banned but it turned out to be a problem with his email... you at least deserve an explanation so email CJ about it and let us know.

And that, for some odd reason, negates the validity of my opinion?
Justin Timberlake is currently blazing up the top 40 charts and meanwhile "Generations" can't even get a single spin on the airwaves.
Uh oh.
Looks like you're also in the minority, NIG.

What an utterly worthless post.

Show me where I said it negates the validity of your opinion? I just pointed out that, according to this very non-scientific poll, you are in the minority. Your opinion is no more or less valid than anyone else's. Just b/c you say a song sucks, doesn't mean EVERYONE has to think it sucks.

I never said NIG's "opinion" was worthless.
I said his attempt to cite numerical figures as a representation of quality was worthless.

According to you, I guess we should all compliantly bend over a barrel and take it straight up the pooper.

Um...No. You said his post was worthless. If you meant his numbers specifically, you should've clarified better.

My, what a backwoods mouth breather u are.
NIG's post was entirely comprised of nothing but THE NUMBERS!
He mentioned that my view was in the minority when juxtaposed against the view of the majority.
In fact, no opinion of his was even offerred.

What do you care?
So u can rob me of my marriage rights and then tie me to a fence to die, mister red state intolerant bigot?

Let's see...You're calling ME the intolerant bigot, yet you're the one constantly throwing around anti-homosexual slurs against any other forum members who dare defy your line of thinking. Nice attempt at turning the tables there but it won't work.
