From what I've heard, I'm not feeling it yet. I need to hear him actually hit the notes without strain. So far, I ain't hearing it.

JSS Rocks... Journey will be back on RADIO again, if CAIN can write a masterpiece POWER BALLAD for JSS to sing on any up coming CD, (if JSS is truely their new frontman of choice....) IE open arms 1981, or Whos Crying Now... IF thats what Deano thinks is the comeback trail being on the radio with top 10 hits... The concerts have already sold well through out the last 8 years...so there is no real comback there...its already going on!

Journey CAN make waves now..They have a singer who can sing, has balls, and trust me folks, can make the Journey name proud again. I am sold on this outfit. I am going to war for Journey now.

I have seen the fucking light. I was wrong a month ago. Jeff Fucking Soto can flatout, fucking sing, like I have never heard before with the exception of course of Steve Perry, the best ever, and trust me, they are not far apart........

Jeff is the shit, Neal is the shit, if Friga would stop shaving his balls, could be the shit too.........Of course, Deen is the shit already and Ross, well, who cares about Ross..I can play fucking bass....

I am offering my services....I will get shit done for these fuckers. They made a mistake, fucked up, cleaned up, improved ten fold, and I am here saying, let's rock.

Fuck all you Perry only fans. I love SP, but I am here to say you Perry onlies want Journey to fail..I say, "eat the corn out of my shit." I am a Journey fan..A Real Journey fan, a live Journey fan, and I KNOW this incarnation will do so OJ Simpson on people.........

I love this lineup. THIS lineup is the shit.

No offense, but how are you qualified to make such statements? are you/were you in the band or management some how? don't get all ruffled up and shoot back crap...just answer how you know and how you are in the "know" cause it sounds like you have some inside scoop but you could just be a really good bs'er? although I've been reading your posts for months, I still haven't been able to gather the facts behind your knowledge.....thanks in advance.

The man works the crowd far better than Augeri. If he stays in the band and they put out some new, kick-ass material, we could be in for a wild ride. Will they regain the popularity they had back in the 80s? No, but they could make a decent go of it.

Deano,

I must agree. Though *some* of the boots show JSS has not adjusted to the songs perfectly yet, his "Believe in Me" is MORE a Journey song than much of what Journey has put out since TBF. Add some Cain synth to that song and there you have it . . . . .

I've always thought Believe In Me sounded very similar to Be Good To Yourself.

Whenever I hear one I think of the other.

Its all in the timing!!! They need a song THAT NEAL really hates... that way someone higher than the band can say---that is the song you need on the CD. LOL... Think Tina Turner and Whats love got to do with it, or Journeys Open Arms.. etc...

Journey could make the greatest album of their career with JSS singing, and radio still wouldn't play it. It's just the sad truth, at least in this country.

Even then, Journey wouldn't make the career decisions that would lead to them becoming a viable recording band again...they're pretty much set in their ways as a touring nostalgia act, even with JSS singing. (note that they don't even bother doing any post-Perry songs anymore)

With JSS , they could probably continue as a touring act but forget about making new albums that will sell platinum, those days are over with any other singer than Perry in the band.

The band have divided people on BT and have not bothered to evan check in a thanks for your patience will be making an announcment soon etc. Then again they dont do much on that site, its all love fests and prayers now

And I'll probably be flamed for my post in "We need an Augeri miricale" Told them that I don't think he's coming back and the band doesn't revlove around him  I can hear the pitchforks sharpening already.....

If JSS is the way forward, then good luck to them, I think JSS will do the classics justice over time and if they bring out any new material I'm sure it'll be kick ass stuff

It is possible that Journey could make some splash on radio IF JSS joins and they record that kick ass song...AND a record label gets excited by what they have seen on tour and heard from "that" song so they decide to actually promote the band and the music.

It could get on top 40. They will play anything that is promoted by the label. Remember when Def Leppard got a hit out of "Promises". And Duran Duran had a single played from their reunion. Doesn't matter what it is if the label pushes it...

I totally agree with you on this one!!

This can be done with a band like Journey and the timing is perfect! Just need the right promotion team to get it out there :)

This a the sad truth that has destroyed music. If the heavy-weight labels aren't pushing your stuff on radio like donuts on a fatty, you get NO airplay! The brightside is, I think rock and the guitar solo are making a slow climb back in to the spotlight... Jump on the success of this tour, get JSS's face out there and then throw in a big-name producer like Rick Rubin or Bob Rock... You could get that Comeback after all :)

Again, you're right, IMO

That's what the problem is with a lot of the "older" bands trying to make a comeback, if the label isn't pushing the music or band, then it's going to go nowhere. Label's pay big money to get "their" music heard. IMO

Radio stations are starting to cater again to people "our" age, look at some of the big markets are going back to the 80's music. IMO

The timing for Journey to get out there is NOW! There's new blood and it's flowing big time! IMO

Actually the Milwaukee station here does and it's great!!! Sometimes they'll play their "hit" and then follow up with a new song.

You know what? Who give a fuck about a "come back" If that's what we need, can JSS and any other rockers and get Paris, Britney, or Christa to front the band. Maybe Mariah now she's hot again. There is your fucking come back. satisfied?

Yay.
Yet another JSS bootlicker has arrived
More Journey-ish than "Signs of Life" "Faith in the Heartland" "Higher Place" "The Place in Your Heart" "Remember Me" etc?
Hardly.
"Belive in Me" sounds fairly Journey-ish and is a solid tune, but to reduce everything else to chopped liver is disingenuous to the max.
