IMO they could have avoided this whole mess if they just wouldn't have screwd over Steve Perry in the first place.
We all know that "TBF" would have sold extremely well even without promotion. It would not have killed them to just let it go for that one album, let steve get over the hip thing then start again fresh. BUT NO!!! I honestly believe that neal was just looking for any excuse he could find to oust perry. But it has come back to haunt him. Steadily declining record sales, poor concert attendance( comparable to SP days) waining interest by the public in general(not the handfull of post perry fanatics) Huge continuing interest in perry era journey material as evidenced by new interest in "DSB" which pushed that album to "diamond" status, the fact that the "81 houston dvd just went "platinum"(in less than a year) and a steady rise of daily new interest in SP as evidenced by a surge of new registrations on every major perry board out there(whether he does anything or not!) And last but certainly not least this lead singer debocle. The facts speak for themselves!
And this is an improvement? I'd rather see SP on a short tour than any of these other people on a long one. At least with perry you get the real deal! And blah! blah! blah!, just proves you can't dispute any of the facts that were stated.
Irregardless that does no change the facts! More successful with Perry-Less successful without! The beatles sold millions w/out touring as did pink floyd, the eagles etc, etc.... You know neal was jealous of him-never wanted him the band in the first place. I guess in his mind it would have been better to have faded into obscurity in the early '70's than to be at the place that SP elevated them to.

Holy steeming pile of guano Batman
