Sorry if I was sounding irritable...
Are you saying that you think all the 'foul mouthed, agressive.....' stuff is desirable behaviour here? Oh, OK.
I'm saying that this is the only Journey forum I've been to where people have the freedom to express themselves. This is what I like about this site. Sometimes the "foul-mouthed aggressive behaviour" is hilarious. Sometimes it isn't. But no - I don't find it offensive and if I did...I have the option off logging off the site.
What I find offensive is being patronized by a controlling moderator...being told what I can or cannot say...being sent warnings and having posts deleted.
I reserve the right to comment on those aspects I think could and should be improved.
Yes, of course. But how would you improve it? Who "could and should" carry out these improvements? You've said before that you don't want to anyone to be banned or have posts deleted - so how would you create the culture you do find desirable without the forum becoming sickly-sweet and bloodless like BT?
I don't think I'm too mature for the culture of the site, just more mature than the handful of people who seem intent on dragging that culture down to childish levels.
Surely the really mature thing is to recognise that it is essentially quite childish to spend time talking on a messageboard about a rock band?
And I don't understand why every response to me goes along the lines of 'go back to BT'.
I also suggested that you lighten up and enjoy this site for what it is.
It amazes me that so many people here are obsessed with BT and are convinced it represents everything that is bad. It doesn't.
Well, bear in mind that many, many people here have been banned from that site without ever having used foul-language so this might explain the resentment. If it was any old Journey site then no-one would care. But it is the Official Site of the band - and the moderators there have managed to alienate a signicant section of Journey's internet fan base. That's what I find amazing.
