I've got to add that I would LOVE to hear Jeremey's rendition of You Better Wait from For the Love of Strange Medicine.

Hey FF, thanks for posting those karaoke files! Also, liquiddrummer, awesome job, man!!

I'm not going to upload anything as part of a competition or anything, but there's a few tunes Frontiers would never tackle that I've always wanted to perform/record, so I'd love to upload a version of YBW or Missing You....Right now all the microphones I own are locked in a trailer 30 miles away, so I'll screw around with something when I get a chance. In the meantime, if anyone wants to hear "I Stand Alone" and has never heard it, here's a link here:

http://www.journeytributeband.com/istandalone.mp3

Later!
Jeremey

Already heard (many times) your version of I Stand Alone - it's great! Hearing you do You Better Wait or even Missing You would certainly be awesome.

I love it

Now, I am even more critical of my voice.
It's never been good enough
Gosh, we have such talent here..

LOL...posting your recordings has nothing to do with being on a 'plateau'.

And, I do not want to be on a 'plataeu'...cuz that can imply that a person has reached their peak. In other words, you can only go down from here.

Alright folks,

How about no Karaoke. Just straight out of the box attempt after two beers and a chicken fajita roll up at Applebees (alright, three beers but don't tell anyone). No backing vocals, no reverb, no "love juice," no guitar, just cold vocals and nothing else? Here's is my less than stellar attempt at it using a $.20 mic in a Dell laptop: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?a ... E16CE4BE43

LD and Jeremey, you guys both kick ass. Nicely done bros!

cool man

u know something...stick a backing track behind it...and some compression....reverb and a touch of chorus..plus a little bit of Antares autotune here n there..and it would sound pretty decent.

And Im not being funny.... they are only the things that everyone else uses in their home sequencers or studios... brave attempt...just a voice... bravo dude !!

So far all I nave is a 2nd try at open arms accaoello.
Problem arose arfter installing Karafun.
Uninstalled it for the 2nd time but now my cheap dell $1 mic
which used to work ok
is now extremely live and over modulates.
I can;t even listen to the puter with speakers on now as the mic picks up everything.

So I have to sing a foot away from it now and even touching the chepa pastic thing sounds like a railroad train is coming through?

What happened
How do I fix it
I found the mic was set on hi on my sound card mixer
guess something Karadun did as I had it set about half
I fixed that but still have the same problem

Arrgggh

Any wix out there able to set this voice track to open arms?

http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?a ... 7727FDFEBE

I know I can do better
it was a lackluster weak attempt
Gosh how I appreciate Steve Perry's voice after seeing how damn good is really was....

Shadow, you sound very melodic on that recording, especially with unsophisticated recording devices. I can't sing at all and wouldn't even want to attempt this challenge, the cats run under the bed when I do sing-so good on you for sending this in!!! :D

Thanks
It's rough..just the basics
I hear parts that could be better
Couldn;t sing too strong as it was a feedback nightmare...

I;ll do better
just haven't sang in a while and you do get rusty...

I have some voice exercizes
they really do work
Maybe I should do them

I;d like to make one good recording in my life
One I am proud to say is mine

Ahhhh Mindy,
Maybe the dogs are just singing along
It can;t be that bad...

Seriously I have a big puter problem with sound after installing Karafun
I am not able to record now as the mic is so alive
I;ve turned down every control I can find
but it's esp bad in WMP

I uninstalled the KF but it hasn;t fixed it
I re started...

I'm not liking this at all...

Darn....

You know what I love
Minor keys
Love to sing that stuff out of horror movies and old space movies
oooooh used to scare my brothers when we were little I;d sing
Spooky in the Dark
LOL

I;m real good at that

OOOh Mindy
What do dogs know anyway...
