Unfortunately it's taking a bit longer than planned due to an unexpected move, however I expect it won't be more than a few weeks.

Of course, donations will help. Donations can be made by going to the JRNY Home Page and clicking on the link provided.

I think it's obvious that the reason I posted here was because there are Steve Augeri fans here that would like to help out with the project.

It's also obvious that there is an element here that look for any opportunity to bash and trash. I'd be a fool not to expect it.

I'd be an even bigger fool to not post because of the 'bash and trash' crew. Besides, I can deal with it. To each their own.

I know he left the band in a cloud of controversy and that the official line from Journey is that he had a chronic throat infection. But I haven't read any statement from Augeri himself explaining the situation to his fans.

I also have no idea whether or not he is unhappy to have left the band. Didn't he show up at a recent Journey concert looking like he was in good spirits?

I can totally understand why you might want to create a page to thank him for the last eight years - even though I'm not a fan of Augeri myself - but I'm just not clear about why he needs "support"? I'm not saying he doesn't - but I'm curious about what he is actually suffering from?

Unfortunately it takes lots of down time to heal from the type of vocal cord problems Steve has. I can't speak for him or his Doctor, but it could take quite some time for him to heal.

What type of vocal cord problem is it? And is this a different problem to the throat infection? Again...I'm not attacking here...just asking...

I'm not sure of the exact terminology, but from what has been said Officially, it is 'chronic' and serious. Apparently the problem had been coming on for some time, so stands to reason it'll take some time to recover.

It wasn't your initial post or the fact that you posted it at all because I have no problems with that. I'm not one of the bashers here on this forum. However, your second post in this thread leaves the impression that you were merely poking the collective forum in the eye with a stick.

As far as recovery I hate to say this but there is no recovery he is just out of the band becuase he can hold up for this band.
They have to keep churning out shows to make money

If it's "chronic" as has been stated...it will never go away and he will have to deal with it for a long time to come. All he can do is take measures to keep himself as healthy as possible. (ex. thing 'chronic' bronchitis).

Thanks, however I wouldn't count him out yet. Recovery can only happen with time. You are absolutely correct that the band needs to make money and to do that, they need to Tour. It shouldn't be any surprise the band chose someone to help them do just that.

Thank you Steve Augeri, for helping bring my favorite band back. For helping to give me some good new Journey music to listen to and for being a nice, humble man in the process. Good luck to you in all your future endeavors and best wishes for health and prosperity for you and your family.

So? Your Perryhead brethren have been holding services for Perry for a decade for a hip ailment that's no more substantiated than SA's health problem.
SA hasn't been heard singing whereas Perry was seen bolting through a studio "like a bat out of hell".

Looking for people to donate their Steve Augeri pics for display on JRNY'swebsite. In Steve's honor, I'd like to dedicate an entire page to him and his fans.

Personal photos (you and Steve), as well as concert photos are welcome. I'll also post any personal messages you might have for him. Hopefully either he or Lydia will see the pics and messages and know that we are all still rooting for him and his recovery.

There is also a Guest Book will on the page where you can enter your thoughts about and messages to Steve.

Whatever your position on who should be Journey's Lead Vocalist of the future, I believe most of us still support Steve and appreciate what he did to help keep the Journey alive for the past 8 years. Everyone is welcome to post to the GuestBook (no speculation on Steve's position with Journey in the future) and submit pics, if they so wish.

Thanks for your support and you can email all pic donations with your authorization to post them, to EclipticJourney@yahoo.com

I also invite you all to the new JRNY Forums.

Steve is not talking to anyone for some reason? Its hard to say how many years he gave to Journey as the last few are drenched in shame! He was a great guy i must admit and i wish him well. In regards to his recovery i am sure he will never sing in Journey again, maybe Tall Stories? That would be cool.
Unfortunatley until he speaks or evan just says thankyou people may be reluctant to support him at this time 8) Image

Chronic merely means it's been a problem for Steve for quite some time. Doesn't mean he'll never sing again.

Obviously, when Steve and the band know, they'll announce it. We just need to be patient and know that either way, Journey will go on.

What shame? He's done a fantastic job. Of course he's had bad nights, but that holds true for any vocalist that's out there running the schedule Journey has for all but one of the years Steve has fronted the band.

Journey songs are some of the most difficult to sing, even on one night...let alone 3 nights a week.

I give Steve Augeri great credit for his 8 years of service. I'll listen to the music he did with Journey right along with the rest of their catalog.

He should know he has fans even though he is no longer the lead singer of Journey.

Rich - I'm glad you've started to accept that JSS is the new frontman.
