JSS - Stryper?

This is too crazy. I have never heard this before. I do know that Brent (Jon's tech) had a stint in Stryper.

I used to work for Licorice Pizza and we had an in store with Stryper. Those boys used more auqa-net than I thought possible. Christians? Ummmm

What the fuck is going on here?

I've met some pretty twisted Perryfans in my day, some at the brink of delusions, and despite what they all privately said about Augeri, they thought he was a nice man who deserved tons of respect.

So why is Jeff getting doused in piss?

I met the guys in Stryper during my Yngwie tenure, '85, loved their EP & so on...I was the 1 & only guest they had ever brought onstage to sing/duet with them at a show in I believe '87. In '90, don't quote me on the year, they asked me to sing backgrounds with them on the Against The Law CD as they wanted to add more 'beef' to their angelic backing vox from the past...this was to be their 1st secular album & they wanted it to have nuggets!

A year after, they were releasing a 'best of', Can't Stop The Rock' in which Michael Sweet had a duet vocal idea & he brought me in to do some repeat lead lines, ala BonJovi style, as well as stack the backing vox for the chorus on an unreleased track called Believe.

Still great friends with all of them, that's my Stryper connection.

On a side note, it was that session I met the legendary Tom Werman who was so impressed by my knowledge & speed of creating vocal choruses, from that day forward he used me to sing backings on all the records he produced until his retirement....which included the lead vocals on the Rock Star movie which he also produced.

As a military vet, I always loved the song 'Believe'. It's a favorite on the Can't Stop The Rock' CD. Good stuff!
