Well, Kenny is right about that, it is and was disgusting how Journey handled it, even though they do sound bad-ass right now. Talk about fucked up PR and back stabbing, low class style....but sounding good :? The sleeze Journey continues...

Yeah even if the east and west coast teams get their ASSES HANDED TO THEM, they should still be allowed to advance.

I was merely voicing my opinion. I guess I'd just rather watch football when I've got the time. I meant by my statement that a big name team would likely garner more viewers, that's all.

This from a guy who left the Oakland A's in the cold because he wanted to play closer to his Texas home, which apparently meant the New York Yankees.

Fuck Kenny Rogers. Ball doctoring piece of shit. Not that everybody doesnt, but at least most hide the shit smear rather than having it right on their hand.

Never was a bright one.

So what. Hitters steal signs, use corked bats, take steroids and HGH. Do you honestly think that pine tar, if indeed that's what is was, makes a big difference? I played baseball from litlle league through college, and I can tell you that pitching is about throwing strikes, locating your pitches and changing speeds. Pine tar helps you do NONE of those. Kenny Rogers is pitching very well right now.

Saint John,

You are 100% correct.

The pine tar helps with gripping the ball. It was extremely cold in Detroit. When its cold its much harder to grip a baseball. Pitchers will go to their mouths more often in the cold weather. Some of the time it is to keep their throwing hand warm. Other times its for gripping the baseball.

The pine tar will have nothing to do with velocity,or location. It may help a little with movement. But, it will definately help with gripping the ball on a cold night.

Kenny is on a roll right now. He is cheating no more than an NFL receiver that wears gloves with the tacky substance that is currently on them and legal by NFL rules.

Again,

What Saint John said is 100% correct!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stickum on WR gloves is legal.

Doctoring the baseball is not.

Gonna be moot anyway because it's St Louis' year.

It is not exactly stickem. But it is tacky.

The hitters have a huge advantage these days in baseball. MLB wants runs.

From the shrinking strikezone to the body armor alot of the hitters now wear damn near every advantage is in favor of the hitter.. Shit if a pitcher tries to pitch inside, misses his spot and hits the hitter in most cases if the pitch was a fastball, the pitcher and his manager get a warning. The next Hit By Pitch and they both are gone.

What Kenny did is no big deal. He may have stretched the rules, but it is no biggie!!

Its like driving 73 in a 70.

As for it being the year of the Cardinal it aint over yet.

In a short series anything can happen. Pittsburgh, Tampa, or Kansas City could win it all if you put em in the playoffs. They are all professionals, and they are all very very good. What makes baseball the best, is that 162 games seperate the professionals. The best teams will come out on top because of the length of the season Short Series's take this element away.

For the past 3 to 4 years the National League is barely better that triple A baseball. The Cards may win it, but they would have never even sniffed the playoffs had they played their 162 in the American League.

I'm not sure, nor am I an umpire. They concluded it was dirt, he washed it off and then continued pitching well. The fact that he pitched 7 scoreless innings after removing whatever it was, kind of debunks your theory. Last year the Chicago White Sox led by Aaron Rowland's love for the music of Journey rode Rowland's superstition to the Sox's first title in 86 years.

This years playoff hereo so far has been Detroits ageless lefthander Kenny Rogers. Rogers who has never been much for rock and roll music recognized last years White Sox rally cry the 80's hit 'Dont Stop Believein' and decided to test karma as well as the free agent market. Rogers inked a two year 16 million dollar deal with the Tigers. That same night he and agent Arn Taylor took in Rogers first Journey concert.' I was mesmorized by their music' stated Rogers. Nine Journey shows later, Rogers owned the entire Journey catalog.' 'I feltThe new guy was every bit as good as the old guy' stated Rogers. The new guy Rogers was referring to was new Journey lead singer Steve Augeri. ' I became kind of a male groupie, but the guys in the band were so great espically lead singer Steve Agueri'. 'Steve and I became good friends.'

Spring training in Sarasota ended Rogers live Journey days. Then came this summers ousting of Rogers Journey friend Steve Augeri. ' It was just wrong', 'he worked his ass off for that band'. 'The way it was handled was a disgrace and I no longer consider myself a fan of the band'.

I thought you all would enjoy this after Kenny Rogers pitched such a great World Series Game last night.

There is quite a bit more. Just log on to fox's site to read the entire article.

"Whatever it was" was pinetar...didn't you see the photo? Dirt doesn't look like pine tar. Pitchers with dirt on their hand don't like the feel of the dirt and will wash it off.

Furthermore, no matter how well a dirtball like Rogers washed his hand, the stickiness would remain; thereby giving him the ability to finish out his game as if he did nothing wrong.

Everybody from the top on down is covering Roger's ass.

Bottom line....kids are seeing first hand how to break the rules and not have to pay.

The effin' fat lady is yodeling right now. NL pride.

If Rogers wasn't cheating, then Leyland would bump his spot up to tonight. Since he's been busted and can't get away w/ it now he's staying on his regular day.

No 13.

With the rain out, TODAY is Rogers scheduled day. He should start him, as he is Detroits best arm. I am guessing he won't because STL will be rather hostile.

You guys wonder why LaRussa NEVER said anything? Hell, he is the last guy who can say anything about cheating. He looked the other way when McRoids, err, McGwire roided up so much his eyeballs nearly popped out of his dome. Tony was just trying to get the umpires to do it, so he wouldn't have to, and tada....they did.

Ballz.
Mgwire was a pick when they were the Bash Bros and won it all in '89 w/ LaRussa.
I wish that cameraman had had the sack to turn that scumbag Rogers' lights out that day when that shit happened.

Dude, funny thing is, the Bash Bros....Jose Canseco was a better player then, and ends up being the better player period. First 40/40 guy, speed, power, not the best outfielder in the world, BUT...Mac hits .225 lifetime, and was all roided up and hit balls into Illinois from Busch. So What?

I say he has zero chance of Cooperstown...zero.. And props to Canseco for bringing these Roiders to light. Notice Rafael Palmeroid is gone? What happened to Sammy "I forgot how to speak english before Congress" Sosa? Jose was right.

Oh god, Canseco was amazing...that team was a mini-Braves....great squad that should've won more than 1 (tarnished b/c of the quake to boot) title.

Lansford, Dave Henderson, Bob Welch, Smoke Stewart, Eckersly (and Steve Howe prolly doing lines and swigging from a flask behind the bullpen dugout WITH Eckersly), BigMac, Walt Weiss...fun years.

Steinbach, the catcher w/ the annoying jaw-covering batting helmet.
