Neal and Jon BOTH auditioned him and BOTH felt he was capable and since 1998 he's proven himself capable.

It was Herbie who had the keen judgment to select Perry.
Not Neal.

Even the great and respected Herbie Herbert told the story of how he saw SA in concert and recognized that he embraced the songs as his own.

He also went on to say that Augeri is "disadvantaged in the talent department" and that he would've re-managed the band if they had chose Kevin Chalfant, "a considerable better singer than Augeri."

Considering how many hit records these guys have had compared to how many you've had I'd have to say that they're the better judges.

I'm just saying that Azoff's tactical line of approach regarding Augeri is mums the word!

No, I am actually in favor of the band mentioning and incorporating the Augeri-era as part of a cohesive Journey whole.
Instead, right now, the line of thinking seems to be an Augeri quasi-blackout of sorts.

This band's mngt. is out of step with the times.

But TNC those of us who post on this & other Journey forums make up a very very small percentage of Journey fans on the whole. We can talk about the "scandal" for time immemorial here. In reality, most Journey fans (ie concertgoers & CD/DVD buyers) will never know of it.

The bands unbridled use of tapes and OUTRIGHT neglect for their hard-paying fans will forever be brought up - much like Perry's trumped-up TBF hip problem.

On the internet, there is no shelf life for these sorts of things.

Hope this is not a sign of things to come.VH1 just sent an email on Journey's video of DSB with Steve Perry but they had a slot of Journey main event it was S.A. on stage in concert with Journey with Neal at his best.
