Higher Place was the only playable song on that album for me, and I gave it many tries. Ah well. Definitely not on my best of list.

All A+ material

With Your Love was my wedding song, so I am required to like it by law.

There were always a few I didn't care for on it. It is a pretty long CD. "Nothing Come Close" is the one I can't stand on the album.

Never understood the complaints with the sound quality. Sounds crystal clear production wise to me and slick. Red 13 and Generations sound like poorly recorded bootlegs.

I think so, too.
It´s a great sounding record...
I personally love it for Deen´s drumming!
Actually thats how I got into Journey..
I´m only 27 years old and was a Deen fan ever since....(I´m a drummer, too).

Btw, I would love to have the Arrival version with TBAA on it....only have a live version of that song... :(

Personally I love Arrival. When it comes to Journey albums, ROR was the clunker for me. It sounds like "Steve Perry and Journey" to me. Too much pop, not enough rock.

Song may be a little nerdy lyrically but it does rock and the Augeri/Castronovo harmony on the "NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO YOUR KIHHHHIIIIIISSSSSSS!!!" parts is unbelievable.

By "their" are u including the revolving cast of outside writers including Nashville yokels and (gasp!) even Jon's wife?
"Ärrival" has some great songs. Amazingly, the best tunes are Neal's collaborations with Jack Blades.
If Kalodner cut away the TBF-inspired warmed-over balladry, it would be a lean, mean rock album.
Maybe someday Neal will finally deliver on his promise of Escape 2000.

I wouldn't describe anything about that song as unbelievable.
It sounds like what it truly is: a thinly-disguised Bad English left over.

Always gotta drum up quantity in search of the next Faithfully.
The label's "More ballads. More ballads. One of them will catch on" theory worked w/ TBF and WYLAW, less so w/ All The Way.

What on earth for?
Is not what I said factually accurate, or is it that you're a limp-wristed smegma-lapper too timid to give me my just deserts?
Quickly, gather your one remaing T-cell, grab that scat encrusted bedpan as your helmet, and take a last stand before 'Make a Wish' foundation swings by with the Queer Eye crew in tow.

If you're lucky, Journey will dedicate "Believe" in your vaunted homosexual honor each time they never play that song again in concert.

Allen Ginsberg and Liberace are eagerly waiting to tag-team your USDA-certified rump in hell.

I liked Arrival when it came out and still enjoy a bunch of the songs

I would have to rate the album up there just based on the fact of how much I listen too it

1. Escape
2. Evolution ( I probably listen too this cd the most beginging to end)
3. Frontiers
4. Infinty
5. Arrival
6. Departure
7. ROR
8. TBF
9. Journey
10. Generations ( FITH is the only song I like)
11. Look Into The Future
12. Next
13. Dream After Dream ( I only have this on vinal and no way too copy it I think I listened too it once)

Other Journey Cd in order of best too worse I actually enjoy these alot

1. Captured
2. Greatest Hits Live
3.Time 3
4. Journey Essentials
5.Greatest Hits ( love the live version better)
6.Journey The Ballads- has the linear notes wriiten in Japenesse so who know what is says.

Which one was Jon's wife on?
I do remember that Neal's wife is creditted on Generations though...
Of course the precedence was set by Ross Valory's then wife for WITS...

Without the liner notes in front of me, I am thinking "With Your Love."

Correct.

I still find myself popping in Arrival for a listen regularly, which is more than I can say for the Perry-era albums. But, if I were to rank them, I would have to say:

1. Escape 8.3
2. Frontiers 6.9
3. Arrival 6.57
4. Infinity 6.5
5. Evolution 6.1
6. Departure 5.73
7. Generations 5.58
8. Trial By Fire 5.2
9. Raised on Radio 4.6

I'm only ranking the albums I actually listen to, comparing the Perry and Augeri records, since that's when the band's style was cemented. I was a little surprised to see Arrival's average squeaking by Infinity, because Infinity is the Perry-era record that I probably listen to start-to-finish the most.

I have to ask TNC, do u have a wife? & if so, is she cooperative in that regard? U sure do talk a lot about it. Which means to me, either u get it all the time & it's at the forefront of ur mind, or...u don't get it very often at all, which means u fantasize about it a lot.

Ranks near the bottom for me as well. Here's my list from best to worst. I'm a big fan of early Journey with Rollie.

Infinity
Evolution
Departure
Captured
Escape
Frontiers
Trial By Fire
Journey
Next
Look Into The Future
Dream After Dream
Arrival
Generations
Raised on Radio

As bad as Arrival and Generations were, they were at least better than that abomination called Raised on Radio. Ugh.
