That is where I fit in.

Well, no pics with the band, so I'm no Groupie Girl. Guess I'll go under the title of Rabid Fan.

HOWEVER!!! I am happy to give (and receive!!!woohoo!) platonic hand shakes, hugs (not full body) and kisses on the face, not lips, to Journey band members, crew, and any and all fans.

Hey girlfriend, you gotta calm down! You about had me running for the door. I'll kiss your face or whatever, but chill out a bit. There are people on this forum that will have a ball at your expense if you come on like that.
Love ya,

hehe - thanks for the warning. most people know better than to mess with pre-menopausal women. bwahahahaha!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.. j/k. I make a daily decision to ignore pettiness. it is work sometimes! ha!

Most people in my circle have called me a groupie for a really long time. dopes. they don't even know what it means. perhaps there is a better word for my type of fan?

I dunno--i do know that.............

I love JOURNEY. period.

and I'm going to NAMM in few days so I CAN'T be brought down. woohoo!!!!

thanks again.

Not sure where I fit in all this, as I wouldn’t put myself into any of those categories.

I’m obviously not a Groupie Girl. I wouldn’t describe myself as Rabid anything. I don’t play much Journey in public so I’m not really a Noisy Nut. I’ve never complained about anything to do with the band so I’m not really in the whiny category.

I’m certainly not a Legacy Freak or a Red Leather Fan. That leaves just Groupie Boy or Average Fan. Groupie Boy…. No, that’s not really me either. Average fan…. Close, but I don’t love the classic Journey or just want to hear the dirty dozen. I only fairly recently ‘discovered’ them so I don’t have any legacy allegiance. I’m a rock fan – I like good rock music and Journey play excellent rock music in concert. No more, no less.

Thanks TVL! The wedding was great - and DSB went down a storm at the ceremony...everyone getting their lighters out at the registry office...etc...it all couldn't have gone better. Great honeymoon too - I'm still a bit jet-lagged - but still on a high too. Back to work tomorrow though....

Thanks Sherrie - really appreciate it. Yes - it was all so much more fun than I ever expected a wedding could be - although my new wife has now seized the opportunity to bail out of the forthcoming Journey show! I don't know...now that she's got the ring on her finger...she no longer feels the need to humour me. Oh well... :)

Oh Oh, that doesn't sound good. Maybe she'll change her mind, but if not you can always go rock out on your own. I sympathize with you, I couldn't drag my husband to any kind of rock concert. :?

Yes - definitely an early warning sign! Seriously though...my younger brother has recently discovered Journey and I let slip at the wedding that I had tickets for the Journey show and maybe, just maybe Jocasta would be prepared to give up her tickets - which she was surprisingly delighted to do!

I couldn't really complain - she did come with me to the UK Convention last year (which went on for twelve hours) and came to Scotland with me to see the band on less than vintage form...so she's paid her dues on the Journey front.

Still...my brother is only 21 so it'll be interesting to see what someone who isn't an old fart from the 80s makes of the show.

Yeah, I'd say she's paid her dues, but it would be interesting to have her take on the difference between this year and last. Your brother's reaction will be interesting too.

I showed the Baltimore show to my daughters and their husbands this weekend and they thought Jeff did a good job, but they're really still of the "no Journey without Perry" opinion.

Yes - my wife thinks that too - and I guess I do too - but if Journey do blow everyone away in March then it'll be a shame that her only experience of seeing Journey live was at the fag-end of the Augeri era. Still...she really is long past caring. :)

Thanks Shania! Yes - my bride has heard all my boring theories about the Legacy - many, many times - amazing she still wanted to marry me. :)

Glasgow? Why on earth would you want to go to Glasgow Shania? Surely you need to see Journey at the Home of Rock which is of course the London Hammersmith Apollo...

Actually...my wife is quite hot for Neal....which is a bit disturbing.

As for the others...well, she thinks Cain is too ludicrous to be sexy and that the Voice has unappealling "sausage legs"....

Ah...okay...I guess you do have a good reason to go to Glasgow even though they're all a bit pyschotic up there. But let me knw if you decide to come to London as well. :)
