only after his incarnation(s) helped sell (as of now) 90 million albums worldwide. But Steve Augeri was part of the longest................what BULLSHIT. Man I'm glad I don't have to hear THAT anymore!!!!

But what if on the eve of the European tour, Perry stated he was chomping at the bit (English for being very keen) to join Journey again and said I will join you when your European tour is over, make a new record..tour again..regain past glories etc, What would people at would this board want. Would you:-
1) Stay loyal to Jeff Scott, believing he could take Journey forward..or
2) Cast aside Soto (like Augerri) and hope for a repeat of past glories?
The band would certainly go for Perry as it would mean an excellent retirement.
What are everyone's thoughts. Apologies if this has been asked before.
Come on Soto lovers..the truth.
Reminds me of American Idol contestants--besides needing attention
this poseter is whacky, Freaky and scary!!

Regardless of WHAT happens, and I think I speak for just about everyone, you've made a ton of fans AND friends for life. You're the complete package....talented, honest, gracious, outgoing and fan-friendly. For that, I thank you and wish you nothing but the best as you pursue your career with Journey.
saint John wrote:Personally, if I could be guaranteed that Perry would record 1 more album and tour for 5-6 months to promote it, I would take THAT over 10 years with Soto. Not a knock against Soto, just how much I like Perry.

donnaplease wrote:Well...I believe Jeff himself said that if Steve Perry ever wanted to re-join, he would step aside for him. (I think I read that somewhere)
I believe that Jeff is the type of man that would do just that. I think he respects the legacy of this band that much (and that includes the magic that was the Perry-era). JMO.

Ah...the dream scenario...
squirt1 wrote:Jeff- If perry came back for a few shows it would have no effect on you still singing with Journey. When I think of the ticket price that would generate ,all involved would be fools not to do it. It would give the fans a way to say goodbye or see you next year for a few shows. Also,to a previous poster,ROR was not a fiasco. There were a few hits off that album and what a live concert!!! Bet you didn't even see it live. The album was on the radio constantly and the tour was huge.

Indeedio....what a fuckin album and Matt me and you are the only 2 peeps in the solar system who like the drums on ROR![]()
But echoing El Wombato, I'd just as soon we go forward with JSS recording new Journey music and touring and get some Perry solo marquee event shows.

- I'll follow the careers of both, in or out of Journey.
No brainer, 2 extremely talented frontmen. Still trying to figure out how I have been so blessed as to meet them both within a year......never that lucky. Both seem to be very down to earth, humble guys. Now in a perfect world, we'll hear more from Steve and Jeff will add the Boogie Nights medley into every setlist.......actually on second thought, not so sure I can see Ross and Neal pulling that off quite like Gary and Howie.
LMFAO, especially the bootie shakes.....
