Would you:-

1) Stay loyal to Jeff Scott, believing he could take Journey forward..or
2) Cast aside Soto (like Augerri) and hope for a repeat of past glories?

The band would certainly go for Perry as it would mean an excellent retirement.

What are everyone's thoughts. Apologies if this has been asked before.

Come on Soto lovers..the truth.

I went from a Perryloon to a Soto Psyhco or Soto Loco...which ever we are now...

With Jeff we will go forward...

With Perry it would be one time only~!

But, I still love his voice (SP)....and I can appreciate both of them and see Journey many times with Jeff..THP

Regardless of WHAT happens, and I think I speak for just about everyone, you've made a ton of fans AND friends for life. You're the complete package....talented, honest, gracious, outgoing and fan-friendly. For that, I thank you and wish you nothing but the best as you pursue your career with Journey.

I think many would love to see a swan song with Steve, but I don't ever believ that is going to happen.

And touring - I don't think Steve will ever tour again - certainly not more than a few marquee shows (which would be killer to see).

Somewhat disappointed...

Well, I understand why JSS would say that and I think it is a very classy thing to say.I even agree that if this situation arose the band would probably jump at the chance just to reap the possible financial benefits.Yes..to hell with the music...let's just make more money!!!

I, on the other hand, choose JSS. I think that at this point his musical direction more closely relates to the band than S. Perry.Of course, since there has been NO music from Mr. Perry for quite some time it's hard to say what his musical leaning is these days.

It just seems to me that JSS still wants to rock and crank it up a notch and Mr. Perry wants to sing us to sleep.Yes..that is just my opinion but I stick by it.

Journey is a rock band !!

I love Journey because they have been able to deliver different ends of the musical spectrum on the same release and do both equally well.

Take these as examples: from Infinity......Lights/La Do Da
Evolution...Sweet and Simple/Lady Luck
Departure..Stay Awhile/Homemade Love
Escape......Open Arms/Lay It Down
Frontiers....Faithfully/Back Talk

I think that with JSS they can again cover both ends of the musical spectrum and do it well. I feel that if Perry were to rejoin it would amount to another Raised on Radio fiasco and I, for one, can live without that!

So as for me and my two cents worth it's.......JSS all the way !!

I believe that Jeff is the type of man that would do just that. I think he respects the legacy of this band that much (and that includes the magic that was the Perry-era). JMO.

Indeedio....what a fuckin album and Matt me and you are the only 2 peeps in the solar system who like the drums on ROR :D

But echoing El Wombato, I'd just as soon we go forward with JSS recording new Journey music and touring and get some Perry solo marquee event shows.

Jeff- If perry came back for a few shows it would have no effect on you still singing with Journey. When I think of the ticket price that would generate ,all involved would be fools not to do it. It would give the fans a way to say goodbye or see you next year for a few shows. Also,to a previous poster,ROR was not a fiasco. There were a few hits off that album and what a live concert!!! Bet you didn't even see it live. The album was on the radio constantly and the tour was huge.

I love pretty much everything about ROR. It ranks right behind Frontiers and Escape and on certain days I enjoy it moreso than the other two. To me, a really great album. Loved the way they deviated from the norm and reinvented themselves. Perfect timing for them to do that. That album should become 4x platinum very soon.

Good answer!

No brainer, 2 extremely talented frontmen. Still trying to figure out how I have been so blessed as to meet them both within a year......never that lucky. Both seem to be very down to earth, humble guys. Now in a perfect world, we'll hear more from Steve and Jeff will add the Boogie Nights medley into every setlist :D .......actually on second thought, not so sure I can see Ross and Neal pulling that off quite like Gary and Howie. LMFAO, especially the bootie shakes.....   :P

BTW, how goes it JGal? :)

Even if it came down to it, Neal would still choose Jeff
and Even if Perry was chosen, do you think he could still pull it off and bring the success back ?
I personaly doubt it... In my opinion, it would possibly ruin that great mental picture most people have from the good ole times.
Thats why I would choose Jeff :)
