Ed, why when people need to know time they point to their watch, but when they need directions to the bathroom they don't point to their crotch?

Probably because if you point to your cock you are either talking about pissing or fucking. It would just be too confusing.

Probably because it could be mistaken as asking for a sexual favor and depending on whether directed to a male or female could lead to being punched out or slapped silly.

Yeah, that is sort of what I was getting at. Valid question though.

Ed,
Chris Rock once said that "a fathers only responsibility to his daughter is to keep her off the pole and out of clear heels".Is this true?

I look forward to my 10 month old girl to get knocked up by a professional athlete and extort him for a ton of money and make me and Mrs AR rich.

Well, I just don't allow it.

My reason is, that I feel that the whole TJF thing was disrespectful to Andrew. They used this very board as a launch. Don't you think I could have done the same thing very easily with the Annex?

My forum is private. Not for everyone for sure. I am sure there are some people at TJF that I would have a beer with or something. In fact, anyone there that recognizes me, please say hello in Florida.

To be fair, one of the people on TJF wanted to PM me about my rule and seemed very nice. I just don't give a shit. Don't care about who had a board 10 years ago and all that. Means nothing to me. Times change. All I see there is bitching and whining, with some exceptions here and there. Doesn't make them bad people, just means it is something I have no interest in online.

So I ask my members to not go that route. Not like I can stop anyone. However, I know how good my site is, and how much stuff goes on there that should not be open to everyone. I also make it very clear that Annex is an extra sideboard to Drew's site and NOT a substitute.

Be happy to elaborate more on that, but I hope that made sense.

That was a very serious answer.. Ed, how do you feel about country music? If you like it, who are your 10 favorites?

Fred, I feel that (and I say this as a guitar player) that MOST country stuff is C/F/G7 chords over and over again.

Current country is basically rock/pop with a slight twinge.

Real country is Loretta Lynn/Conway Twitty et all.

Hope that answered your question.

Niggy plays some fine Journey on the ax. Blows me out of the water. I am more of a coffee house singer who can play chords.

Yep, I agree with you. Those are my favorites, too, along with a bunch of others from the 60s and 70s. So that's what makes country sound alike these days? The music is done basically in those 3 chords? What is a chord, anyway? Sorry about this--I have 3 questions!! :)

Well Fred, I am not a real musician or anything. My guitar teacher and I always laugh about the C/F/G7 thing. While I am sure it is not completely accurate, if you finger pick those chords and sing, you can basically sound like a country star.

My comment is a sweeping generalization, but there is a basis of truth in it.

Mrs AR just read this. She said, "you mean someone asked a legitimate music question and you actually answered it?"

I thought it was a great question.

Thanks--the country music one or the chord one? :) (You don't have to answer that--just rhetorical... ) :) I have jillions of questions but I have to go fix us dinner... See you later, :)

Hey Ed...

I have a follow up on your affinity for Van Halen. Inquiring minds want to know...Roth or Hagar???? For the record, I'll take Sammy over Dave 100 out of 100 times!!!!!

John, my answer is BOTH!!!!!!!

Saw the Sam and Dave Tour at Nissan Pavilion in Bristow VA. Tix were only 40 bucks, tour shirts only 20.

I was way impressed. To here all those songs in one night was something I would never in my wildest dreams imagined.

There is a pro shot of Sammy and Dave's sets available from the Camden, NJ stop. I just happen to have it. :D

Anything else while I am at it?

What would I ask AR?

Hmmmmmmmm.

Good stuff BTW, and once we are done here someone else should do one. I am not done yet though. C'mon - just bring it!

I am really waiting for someone to ask something that I will say "no comment" to.

Okay Buster.

Do you feel self satisfaction, the need to express yourself with vulgarities and profanity?
