That's the most controversial post I've ever read that didn't include a reference to reproductive organs or anatomy. Ouch. I don't agree; I just think the environment has discouraged a lot of keyboard influences in the past 15 years. I've been down that road personally. There were a lot of fantastic piano-heavy songs on "Trial By Fire".

Personally, I'd like to see some heavy keyboard riffs, ala Deep Purple's "Lazy", come back into popularity. The intro to that song is killer.

This is, of course, assuming Perry would have wanted to work and that Rolie would re-join the band with his good buddy Perry. ANYWAY, my point is that Cain's magic ran out in 83 for my ears. He hasn't done shit since. Arrival had SOME decent parts, but Red 13 and Generations are 2 good reasons to retire the whale and step into the 21st century. He looks like fuckin' Liberace back there. It's simply ridiculous.

Ahhh, a real Cosa Nostra. They should have invited the entire gang for a nice Italian meal and then broken Cain at the knuckles. Its a joke people!

More Cowbell

Actually, I'd like to see them go back to the early 80's style sound. HUGE choruses, Wall Of Guitars, etc. Drop the modern influence. Second, the last few albums, especially Arrival, had WAY too many ballads. One ballad for every 10 rockers is fine thanks....

the problem with less ballads for Journey is that they are universally regarded as "inventing" the power ballad. It's as hard a thing to get away from, as being labeled "Corporate Rock".

Now THIS didn't get off topic.

Now as for ON topic...I'd have to say the drum sound from Infinity to Departure. Put the Escape sounding drums in instead.

I'm still pissed at Carlos for deliberately exclusing Neal from Santana's ROR HOF induction. Neal played a shitload of the great solos credited to his Carlosness.

Don't get me started on that Smelly Taco eater. That fucker spurned my buddy Neal and he can rot in vomit for all I care. Goes out and gets Rob Thomas, and Michelle Branch and suddenly is everyones' guitar hero. Neal fucking Schon has been doing shit better than Beaner Boy and better too for the last 30 years.

Leaving Neal off the HOF pisses me off...almost enough to fire up a blog called, A Hall of Fame without a Mexican." I would love to take Donkey Dick out of there.

I don't think I would change the sound, but I would go back to the early '90s and kick their asses until they got together and started to work again. They could have at least released new material in, say, '90 and '93. No tours necessary, but that would have been nice, too.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :? If you say so, I guess.

But color ME Guitly-as-charged for wishing this "PortugueseSausageLoversOfTheWorldUnite" level of fawning would be kept to the "members only" Perry sites with the bubble bath, sandalwood, scented lube, incense, and dripping candle wax pants I mean rants.
