Oh, he could. He definitely could. Some changes would have to be made though.
For instance....??

Yea, but is this 'change' only a change that would
happen to get Perry back or could we see it
happen anyway?
That's the big question right now.

Only to get Perry back. Azoff would butt-fuck a squirrel for that reunion. I would too.

Really? You think it would be good? Better than what we now have?
To be honest, "better" is a relative term. Without being unappreciative or disrespectful toward Jeff, I honestly have to say that I would rather see a one-off tour with Perry than 10 more albums with ANY singer. Journey has ALWAYS been my favorite band and Steve Perry my favorite singer AND artist. I've never had the opportunity to see Perry with Journey. I'd give anything. I've been waiting for over 20 years. It's really not about who's "better." It's about filling a void in my life.
Well, I understand where you're coming from. I feel the same way about Journey and Perry. But I think it could never live up to your expectations. It's like wanting to see Joe Montana play one last season, even though he is well beyond his prime. Sometimes the fantasy is a lot better than the reality could ever be.
Exactly. See, this is the
ONLY reason that I would love to see
Journey get inducted into the HOF someday. If they did,
I'm sure all primary parties (Perry, Schon, Valory, Cain, Rollie and Smitty)
could set aside their differences for one evening and celebrate
the acomplishment together, onstage, for an amazing one-off that would
leave us long-time fans in ecstacy.
But i would rather have a few more great albums and tours from the band,
with Jeff, than a one-off tour with Perry that would surely put the final nail
in Journey-the-Band's coffin.
Think about it...
They do a tour with Perry. There would be
NO WAY to go back to anyone fronting the band.
It'd be impossible.
