They did a great job on that song, that girl can sing her ass off.

Thanks, I realized after I posted that, it helps to pay attention.

Did anyone see Ozzy? He sounded TOO good to me...

Me too.

his band is great! they seem pretty tough too.

zakk is a monster player!! man he put about 200 harmonics in crazy train

I love his guitar sound.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Yeah, he's kept his voice pretty well. Sounded a bit creaky to start with, but he warmed up pretty good. No Son of Mine isn't what I would have predicted them to play however. Kind of a strange choice if you ask me. A medly might have been better, especially since Genesis has been known to do that in the past. btw, Los Endos is the other song that wasn't aired, but is on the VH1 site. I still would have liked to have seen a 2nd album with Ray Wilson that was written with him in mind to sing the songs, but that never had a chance of happening, and it's nice to see Phil back. Now to get an album out of them, and hope this isn't a "tour and run" reunion.

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

The entire Ozzy set was "synched". Zakk may or may not have been playing, but I could hear 3-4 guitar tracks at certain points in the 2 tunes that were aired. It Did, however, sound like Ozzy was singing on Crazytrain, but NOT on I Don't Wanna Stop

You could see his mouth move when there were no words as he was off synch and was reading off the teleprompter at that!!
I do think he was actually singing 'Crazy Train' though.

Zakk was a wildman as usual!! 8)

I only saw Ozzy's performace but will catch the show in one of it's hundreds of re-airings! :P

I also agree that Ozzy was lippin on the new tune. He definitely was singing live on Crazy Train. Why the fuck only lip on 1 song and sing the other? I also saw the clip on VH1 of Bark At The Moon and he was singing live on that as well. ???

Not just a strange choice, a BAD choice! Genesis has SO many other fantastic tunes they could've broken out, why bore us with that loathsome drek?

..."Turn it on again" was pretty cool, though...

And DAMN was HEART rockin or what? Is it me, or do ya'll feel like they have pretty much expunged most of their 80's catalogue from their setlists now?

We have a new channel on Comcast called Music HD which broadcast the show in high def last night.

http://www.mhd.tv/

They also showed last years Rock Honors in HD with the missing "internet only" songs.

Caught ZZTop in the middle of playing and thought they sounded great. Gretchen Wilson did a GREAT job singing with Alice in Chains, and it was fun to see Nancy Wilson join them too. And yes, I was amazed at how GREAT Ann still sounded. Too bad there wasn't more shown, I'd have liked a few more songs by them. The greatest WOMEN Rock band ever, and one of the greatest ROCK bands ever.

Genesis, well where to start? Turn it on...???? Is that the only part of the song Phil could remember? 3 minutes of just Turn it on? What a crock of shit! Reminds me why I never cared for them mush as a group or their music. I actually preferred Mike & The Mechanics much more.

Ozzy was ok, but yes, I asked the person I was watching with, if they thought he was lipping, and they said no way would Ozzy lip. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought he was.
Without ego, we have no pride in what we are saying.

Well, to be fair, Genesis did "Turn It On Again", "No Son Of Mine", and "Los Endos". Only the first two were shown. The first one is a friendly "classic" (of which VH-1 needed one), and the second was a hit. The song was huge in 1990/1991 (forget the year). The third would not have appealed to the video audience; just die-hards. You can see it online, though. As for the length of "Turn It On Again", it's for TV. I'm not surprised.

Once Phil warmed up he was fine. I've seen every Genesis and Phil tour since 1986 and I can tell you that Phil always puts on a good show. I even saw the BOth Sides and Dance Into The Light tours - both albums I disliked - and the shows were incredible. When he pulled out "Misunderstanding" in the US for his First Final Farewell Tour, the crowd went bonkers.

I personally can't wait to see them in July, and again in September. Unfortunately, Genesis was more like the odd man out last night.

The one thing I can say is I was surprised by Heart. I saw them in 1987/88 for Bad Animals. It was a decent show. Nancy hasn't aged well (her face is showing it), but they sounded great ... better than I remember when Nancy was a piece of ass :) Gretchen Wilson kicked ass - she really did sound like a young Ann Wilson. I don't like country, but that girl has talent.
