BOTH of these people are highly talented. One got fucked over HUGE. Great direction they had going too. All you American Idol fans, imagine Jeff on there with his stage presence? Total fucking home run - chance for a break out. (Still hate that show THOUGH)

Now if Jeremey can live out a dream - I will be very happy for him. I really like the guys in Frontiers. We saw them awhile ago and my wife was sick and they let her crash backstage in the club where there was a couch. Otherwise I'd have missed the show.

Jeff Scott Soto? Total class act. The best. Not getting into it all, but just a great guy and a talented performer. Journey screwed up and fucked up. Still have trouble digesting it and will never forgive Friga and Schon.

Completely agree!!

Thanks Greg, I just altered the post just a little bit since your quote. Not much, but I feel strongly about all this.

So true. Even when he sings non-Perry he sounds like Perry. Heck, I have Perry inflections when I sing. I listen to him all the time, so it's no surprise.

How many people sound like Kurt Cobain or Scott Stapp or how many do Mariah Carey's melisma (runs)? Do we crucify them too?

NO, BUT WE SHOULD!

Let me throw this on page 2 so I express it correctly - sorry for the re-do.

Listen up, I don't know Jeremey from Adam, from his posts he seems a good guy but what I need him to say is this...No, I 've not had a session with the two big guns from Journey, No...I've not auditioned for the vacant job, No...I've not been told I'm in. Seriously I want you to state the truth here. If you're in, good luck to ya fella, I only wish the best. I'm not gonna post on here afterwards saying how you're gonna change Journey and I'm please for ya..I'm not, this was Soto's gig and Perry's if Soto decided to give way to his mentor. I simply won't support you as a lead singer. It saddens me as you really are a cool and respected guy.
I feel though that we're havin' the piss taken out of us by you not admitting the gigs yours.....if you're on a gagging order what does that tell you about the band.

I'm sorry that I feel this way Jeremey, it's nothin' to do with you but I hate it when things are kept quiet and then suddenly the announcement happens after the storm has recessed.

Having Jeff in the band was like having your brother in the band. He is an all around great guy who not only you could relate to you, but he reciprocated. Thats why live shows with him are addictive.

What I liked about Jeff being in Journey is the fact that he could sing many different types of styles and do it well. Where as, I felt Augeri was good with one particular style of music. That is why I was so excited about Soto being in Journey - he seemed like more of a complete frontman and song writer.

Honestly Jeremey tried to be as honest as he could be in the Frontiers thread here & he did answer those questions saying he had not auditioned nor been offered the job. However, he is going out to play at the piano next week. He also talked about his wife's pregnancy issues & his priorities resting w/her. I respect him for what he tried to do there. What a brave man. & yet, he got shit for it & decided to retreat. That's probably the best for him right now. He's in a very tight spot & I feel for him.

If only this was handled differently w/Jeff, I'd love to see Jeremey in his glory. Please don't roast the guy. He doesnt deserve it at all.

You know, all of the animosity here (mine included) should be aimed at Neal and John. I'm seeing a lot of things pointed at Jeremy and wtf? Be happy that the guy is getting the chance of a lifetime (though he should be really fucking cautious). Jeff will land on his feet. He's got tons of fans and he will be fine. The crap that Journey pulled shouldn't surprise anybody. That's what they've always done from Fleishman to Jeff.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

No Jeremey is going to "audition" (if that's the right term) for Journey next week according to what he said. He may be named lead singer. He may not. That's what he said & right now, I'm choosing to believe it. Even if they name him lead singer next week, they could change their minds the week after. Wouldn't be the 1st time, would it?

So....do you like the song? I've had Rolling Away the Stone, and I Believe in rotation a few times, and I think there is some definite magic there. I don't know if I'm ready to make my music selections based on if a guy goes to church and tells the truth or not...if I did there wouldn't be much to listen to. Its is Rock after all.

The real problem with Jeremey could be his stage persona and image, but then again look at the rest of the band. Ain't no spring chickens up there anymore.

Wow....

give the guy a chance. I'm hearing some Tony Mills in this particular voc, J. Not a bad thing, either. How about in, NealIsGod? I'm hearing a little bit of Shy's Walk Through Fire????

Absolutely, Red. There is a lot influences and versatility in there. Jeremey has a lot to offer. The other thing about these two songs, is I think it really fits that heavy Escape/Frontiers era vibe we've all been begging for, while at the same time being fresh and different.

The stone has been cracked 2 singers ago and you can't roll a cracked stone. Ask Perry. The term political suicide evidently can also pertain to music.
