Awful. Just awful.

One of those tunes that because it's jrny I HAVE to love it despite the utter pain it's caused me.

I love that tune...I'd rather hear that any day of the week as compared to "Open Arms", for instance.

Where can I hear Journey playing Foolish Heart? I heard them play Don't Fight It and it was even better than the Perry/Loggins version.

My predicted setlist that will never happen: (not my choices, just what I'd expect)

- Dirty dozen, minus Escape
- When I Think of You
- Oh Sherrie
- I Stand Alone
- When You Love a Woman
- Still They Ride
- I bet Stay Awhile would sneak back in with Lights
- Girl Can't Help It and/or I'll Be Alright
- maybe another slow track from TBF and/or ROR

If Perry rejoined, no way would they play E5C4P3, Mother Father, or any challenging song. They would play tuned down versions of songs he can still sing, mostly ROR and TBF stuff. Then throw in Lights, WITS, Separate Ways, OA, Faithfully, etc. It wouldn't sound ANYTHING like we remember.

That's ok Sher, I don't think there is a female Journey fan alive that those vocals (at the end of that song) doesn't give goosebumps to. :)

If I have to be subjected to TBF material I'd pick One More (despite cringeworthy lyrical imagery), Can't Tame The Lion and I Can See It In Your Eyes (sort of by numbers song taken to next level by the Schon/Cain outro.)

You know, I'm starting to relate to some of the more negative views about TBF. The CD in general doesn't do a whole lot for me. I don't think it's the musicianship or the difference in the voice, for me it's pretty much the songs themselves that don't reach out and grab me. There are a few, but for the most part, I'll stick to the older stuff too.

Never been able to figure it out. There are spectacular perry vox, unreal guitars, great individual things all over the record. But the music never gels into the feel of '78-'86 Journey.

Finally, you two are seeing the light. The chemistry from E5C4P3 and Frontiers is just not there.

Something was just missing. It was well on the way out for ROR (shut up Matty), but by TBF, there was tons of talent, bits of brilliance, but just something not quite right going on to tie it all in.

Yep.

But then again, we see a goodly # of people here who think it's the masterpiece.

I do find it better when listened to all the way through in its eniterety, more operatic/symphonic where as if you need a quick fix or a good cry you can toss on side 2 of Frontiers or Faithfully or Open Arms and stop (which I hate doing b/c it cheats the album experience so I never do this and haven't for like 10 years).

I cry to Faithfully & Open Arms alright. I am so fucking sick of those songs. I don't care who sings them. They are now nauseating to me.

i think in my honest opinion they would need to cover the years 1978-1986 ONLY.

INFINITY THROUGH RAISED ON RADIO should be the time period.

here is my personal setlist i wouldlike to see.......

1-don't sop believin'
2-stone in love
3-any way you want it
4-lights
5-line of fire
6-escape
7-seperate ways
8-faithfully
9-patiently
10-open arms
11-lovin' touchin squeezin
12-wheel in the sky
13-who's cryin' now
14-happy to give
15-mother father
16-be good to yourself

You have to add some TBF in there..That was such an awesome CD...
