Good for Perry!

I still say Perry needs to get Augeri, Rolie,
Fleischman, Chalfant and Jeff together for
a Bastards Of Journey Summer tour :D
Welcome to Terminus... You hungry?

So u really don't wish he'd make some more solo music? I have to admit I REALLY do. If that's means I don't "truly support" him then so be it. The man's voice is like nothing else & I just want more (not w/Journey tho).

I'm with you. Solo all the way. Any key, any song, any way he wants to use that voice! :)

What does this guy have to do to make you understand HE'S DONE! Does he have to personally walk around wearing a 1930's style bread board sign that says " Leave me the fuck alone, I am NOT singing anymore and I WILL NEVER rejoin Journey!!!!!" Will you get it then? It's over, let him go.

THAT is what it means to be a purebred, perryonly Perryloon. Towing the perry company line even to the point of (at least outwardly) blindly supporting everything about him including his refusal to do the very thing they love the most.

There are only a few of these I have seen in E existence and all but HOTSIE and Linus have left here.

It is why people such as yourself and say, Sherrie or Donna are in a different loon category altogether.

The key, the absolute key, is above all never EVER criticize ANYthing perry does or has done.

I believe he'll NEVER rejoin Journey. I have NO questions about that.

However, I don't believe he's done singing. He's still recording bg vox. He's still writing songs. As long as I'm still hearing about the people he's writing or talking about writing songs w/ (from those people btw, not some halfassed rumor) I'll still believe there's a chance he'll record himself singing on those songs & release them. U can let him go ALL u want. Don't tell me what to do.

Who knows? Maybe Perry was more ok with JSS being in there (a little different direction) than he was with Augeri? I mean he liked JSS's cd enough to purchase it himself. Or maybe it is because they are now looking into a 6th singer and he can't be happy about what is happening to the "Journey" name.

I can't believe some people think he would actually still come back to Journey, how many times does the man himself have to say it. :?

I'd love to see more solo material from him, but if not......that's ok too. But would sure like to see him work on another concert dvd or 2. :D

Well, don't take it that way cuz I still can't reconcile the embracing of JSS (which was great, loved to see it) by those who who shat all over Augeri from 98-05.

I didn't shat all over Augeri. I went to at least 8 concerts where he was the frontman (including 5 in the same year). I didn't think he compared to Perry. I hated his wiggle & his silly dancing. I think Butterfly is a piece of shit. But I've said several times, he was ok for a concert.

I can't watch him dance anymore with a straight face. I admire the guy, but so much has been made of the wiggle dance that it gets to me now. lol

I guess you sort of have to do like we did when Augeri was in there. Even if you don't like it and can't for the life of you understand it, you have to accept it for being what it is.

You know Deb, I sort of got that feeling too. I don't know why I felt that way, and couldn't even begin to formulate an explanation for feeling that way, but I did. Image

I have an answer to this question. He has to say "I'm retired from music. I am NOT thinking about making any new music of my own or EVER touring again." Then, I'll believe him.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love nothing more for Stevie to do a little mumbo jumbo show, BUT I know its not going to happen. I've never seen the man live and I'm okay with that. It doesn't make me any less of a fan, but just a little more realistic in my expectations of a worn-out rock god pushing 60.

Can't help it. Have to be honest. Still will always want to hear the guys make another effort. Perry says no, I say never say never until you're six feet under. It's what got me interested in the beginning and nothing else matters. You only live once. Live, one more time, and let die. They complete each other! Was Perry great outside of Journey? Sure. But he was unbelievable with them.
Perry, you have just one life to live! Make it happen. It's what dreams are made of.
Just a one shot deal to show the world that you and the guys still can.
I'll never stop belivin..............................................

But he must like to tease, otherwise he would make that speech you just wrote. :)
Last year in that Powerplay Magazine interview [I posted it up at the time] he actually said, "I would like to make another album before I die" or words to that effect.

He is fuelling the fire by saying stuff like that and by not saying what JR(Susie) just typed.

He is a very naughty boy.

He's 58, not quite pushing 60. When u get to that age, 2 years are precious. I know u don't realize that at ur tender age :-)

Dennis DeYoung is 60. He looks it. He just made a new album that isn't bad if u like his music. His voice is stellar, amazing. If I saw him & heard that voice coming out of him, I'd be shocked. Apparently, he's very good live.

Daryl Hall (Hall & Oates) is 60. He does not look it. He's AMAZING live. His voice is perfect. It blows the mind.

Kenny Loggins is 59. He doesn't look it either. His voice is wonderful live. Good as ever. No problems whatsoever.

Mick Jagger is almost 64. I understand he is still fabulous. *Laura recently wrote a concert review about him.

Just a few examples of people u might consider "rock gods" older than Perry who can still bring it & are anything but "worn-out".

Of course I would love for him to make more new music, ANYTHING he wanted to do,I ALWAYS HOPE for that, but I still respect his right to live his life the way he wants to.

By the way, my post above was not directed at you. Some fans here like to make it sound, as though, it is the Perry fans that "have issues" with Perry not singing or not being in Journey anymore, but really it is more of an issue with those fans that keep bringing this subject matter up here.
